you have her as pro guilty.
She is older and does something real for her community. I doubt she is a fan of heavy drug users....
Was misremembering which one you were refering to. I put her in Pro-Guilty due to the strong idpol tendencies the last statement provides, working with youth (which shows a strong inclination to emotion) and the general tenor of her responses showing pro-chauvin sympathies. She could be a tossup if I am more charitable.

The National Guard just got hit with a drive by. This is already worse than Floyd's death by a mile. People are nuts.
When people see no consequences for their actions, they're going to keep doing it.

When people literally firebomb federal buildings, and the DA immediately releases them without charges, you just taught people that firebombing federal buildings is acceptable.

When you state that low level crimes will not be prosecuted, people are going to start committing more low level crimes. Then these fucking people will brag about how "crime is down", when no shit it's down because you aren't reporting it anymore.

What if Biden's bullshit today caused the Judge to throw up his hands and declare a mistrial?
That would actually be impossible because NOW the jury is sequestored. So it's actually impossible for them to know what Biden said today.

Here's my lukewarm take. The judge knows if there's a mistrial there are riots and whether or not he admits it even to himself, that's influenced the proceedings. However, he's literally noted on the record multiple grounds for mistrial, while still not granting any motions actually to call one. So his own statements on the record support an appeal.

Riots are a lot less likely about an appeal because nobody gives a shit about appeals courts. There aren't days of oral arguments or much drama at all. Stuff is mostly decided on paper. Mobs of retards don't read. They watch TV. So without compelling visuals, a reversal on appeal is a lot less likely to have extreme riots. You'll just get a minor chimpout.

We're past the instant guilty phase of a jury. Now we're on the debate it out phase. The danger of this is that if it goes on too long, it's damming for the defense.

If it goes past business today, it's pretty likely that at least 1 charge will stick. A hung jury is still possible, but I just don't see it with the lesser charges they have available.

Hearing that the jury is back this evening could be fantastic news for the defense.

Past the first day I put it at 50/50. It depends on which side can argue better and which has higher numbers.

This is more f5 in another court case every decision release day, isn't it?

They'd be horrified at what the moralism of their Yankee brethren had mutated into (assuming they were shown the rhetoric that lead to this shit), and likely wish that the South had won.

Or they would cheer on the rioters because the wealth of a modern city to 19th century eyes would look like an impossible level of opulence, only achievable in their minds by wicked means. These were the same people who sang the praises of literal terrorist John Brown who died trying to turn Virginia into Haiti 2.0 after all.
If only Charles Sumner was not caned on the floor of the senate but what John Brown did was inevitable anyways probably months later if the caning had not happened since he was heavily involved in bleeding Kansas.

all it takes is cnn showing selected parts of floyds death footage again while riling up the mob, and you'll get your planet of the apes on appeals just like you would on an initial acquittal

I have to say, that's exactly the statement I'd expect a politician to make. "I hope the jury reaches the right verdict" This way he appeases both sides without actually giving his opinion.

Its a toss up on timing and if its guilty or not guilty. In a trial in which a Wisconsin Badger football player was accused of rape, the jury came back in less time I take a shit and rendered a Not Guilty verdict.

I slightly disagree simply because while you are usually correct, I fully expect if that happens then the MSM and Democrats will strongly repeat over and over again that it was an intentional way to beat the system and black people rarely get out on appeal or whatever.

or just drive him straight to the emergency room using the police car. could probably have gotten him there even faster than the EMTs could have gotten to the sceene

I seem to remember he was injuring himself in the back of the car, smashing his face into things and bleeding. Probably not a good idea to drive him around while he's doing that. And once he passed out, you want him in the back of an ambulance so they can provide lifesaving measures, not tossed in the back of a police car like a hunk of meat. You can see what the propaganda line would have been: "Police kidnap dying man while ambulance was en route to their location."
