PeppersGhost, the winner of the 4000 contest, has never been staff, so I guess there's one notable example for you. Rounder has also won a bunch of things, and he was kicked off CO for reasons that I'm not super clear on.Has a contest ever not been won by some faggot jannie?
Here's my gay prediction for how some of these scps are going to go.Oh god. The last thing we need are endless "CRAPITALISM IS DESTROYING THE PLANET!!!!!!!!!!" SCPs. even though yeah, it's technically true, they're gonna butcher it so hard. Can't wait for Ferngully the SCP, though.
The only containment possible is the power of friendshipHere's my gay prediction for how some of these scps are going to go.
Scp 6000: 'The End of All Nature"
Level: Keter
Scp 6000 cannot be contained. No containment measures have been deemed applicable, the only containment thus far is the origin point of scp-6000, though this is supposed not to last.
Scp 6000 are a race of humanoid creatures, standing on average 5'6 to 6' feet tall. While relatively weak on their own, in groups they quickly gain power, and in the grand numbers they have reached, have devastated their home world.
Something something humans are the real evil, though the term is never name dropped. Mix in something about capitalism bad too.
Not at all, no.Do you see what I'm trying to say?
My money is on Rounder. I don't know why. Can’t wait to see which member of the Yurt clique wins this one. I wonder if they’ll give anyone else a chance or not this year?
I'm past the point of caring anymore tbhCan’t wait to see which member of the Yurt clique wins this one. I wonder if they’ll give anyone else a chance or not this year?
These days it's quantity over quality. I'll bet once 6000 hits it'll be less than a year before 7000.Jeeeesus. So soon? It's been just over a year since 5k, and there was like year and a half between 4k and 5k.
Same here. I was saved by losing the image it was supposed to be included with. I've noticed that every dogshit internet writer lately has a writing portfolio consisting mostly of SCP articles so I'm not too heartbroken. And to think... I seriously wanted to submit my own SCP once upon a time.
I like the potato sack one. They aren't all unforgivable.Field reports should be fucking banned from the site.
Oh God, the Lovecraft ripoffs are so obnoxious. The King in Yellow is public domain, but they went to the extra effort of inventing at least two knockoffs (the Hanged King and the Scarlet King), both of which kinda suck. The entire appeal of KiY is the mystery. I know hack fanfiction turns it into boring shit like a play that causes the audience to go on a killing spree or a demon that will destroy the world if unleashed, the reason why people are still writing about the KiY today is because it was the first intentional ARG meme. Chambers peppered his work full of meaningless references that the reader would ascribe meaning to. Cassilda? Camila? Hali? These don’t mean anything, the reader and the fanfic writers ascribe meaning. Different people disagree about what meaning to describe. Are Cassilda and Camila sisters? Cousins? Mother and daughter? It doesn’t matter! The damn SCPs completely miss the fucking point. A clever writer could have made a point about this by making the KiY a literal meme where meaning is ascribed by the readers (e.g. the play appears differently to each reader/watcher) and maybe keep it ambiguous as to whether the play just causes delusions or there’s really some reality altering shit going on. KiY has its own wiki for Pete’s sake! There’s no shortage of material to work with.No one gives a shit about your intricate le epic Lovecraft worldbuilding,
If I’m writing prose, I don’t really care about the race, gender, or sexuality of the characters. I’m comfortable writing asexual aliens. Even so, I’ve considered specifically calling out all major characters as LGBT and shoehorning gratuitous sex scenes in order to get attention from a certain demographic market. Maybe even using weirdo sex kinks like alpha/omega dynamics. Not because I enjoy writing romance (I don’t), but because it seems like a potentially profitable decision in the current political climate.and they definitely don't care about the MTF unit that you've written a gay love triangle for.
I was considering signing up and had got as far as creating a wikidot account when the sheer level of bureaucratic fuckery caused me to change my mind. I dodged a bullet.Same here. You don't need permission to make art.Writing an SCP is perfectly worth it as an artistic experiment, provided you can stomach the critique process.
Spoken like a true product designer.Art is less than nothing if there is no one to judge it.
