Very few people can have NO exercise whatsoever. Not everyone can lift for them gainz for various reasons, but just going on some walks is great. Now he will say some people can't walk. Then get an empty water bottle, fill it and lift that. Small things.
You don't need a wide range of foods to lose weight. You don't even need typical low calorie healthy food; just eat less. Also, what sort of fucking bullshit is this "can't exercise enough to use up the calories because of muh guts"? Your guts can't have less food? If you are fat, you won't starve to death if you eat less, mate.
The drinking water thing is also retarded. People who don't have water still drink stuff. If you literally don't have it, like in Buttfuck, Africa, then you are also probably not an obeast. If you are living in a civilised place and all your liquid intake is soda, then I refuse to believe it's because it's cheaper and you're poor. Fuck off.

He claims to be a practice PhD (working expert, not academic), so you'd have to hit the UTDallas theses database to know for sure.
Nothing by Steven was good enough to be republished to any of their public databases, and he's not in OpenDissertations, but in theory there could be some toilet rag thesis he wrote just to graduate, ferreted away into obscurity.
School of choice being UTDallas is pretty unfortunate because Texas keeps awful archives. Clearinghouse only goes back to 08 and full dropout/leaver record is via the TEA only, which doesn't give much public access due to FERPA.
To me, verifying his employment record seems way more insightful. He has these outlandish claims about his track record in tech and personal experiences that would be easy to track down and reconcile with reality (in other words, prove wrong).
Edit: I also refuse to believe that someone with a professional degree would "cite" an un-evidenced twitter thread in the first place. The total misunderstanding and misappropriation of the Seveso disaster in that thread is absolutely vile, by the way. Like you noted, we don't know if he has ANY degree at all or if he just spent his time at University of Texas attending random courses out of interest without being able to focus on a single thing long enough to actually obtain a degree in due time (because he definitely strikes me as that kind of student). He keeps referring to this supposed master's degree he has with a thesis on the topic of fallacies - and please tell me where the connection to computer science is, unless this was some kind of computer linguistics/cross-disciplinary thesis. Many of us have tried to find even a sliver of evidence of this guy being involved as an actual scientist with the academic community at any point in his life, and needless to say there is none. There is a guy of the same name who was a web developer at Georgia Tech, but when you see his picture you know that's not Bardfinn. It's just someone with the same name. I suspect Bardfinn wants people to confuse him with this other Akins guy due to them having the same name:
Suffice to say, Bardfinn is not "retired from science" as he deceptively claims in his Reddit posts, he is just unemployable period, unemployable in science and unemployable in any professional field at all, due to his violent criminal record.
I personally suspect Bardfinn is trying to use his faux "research" into "Reddit hate groups" hoping to infiltrate the scientific community - who will just laugh in his face the moment they learn all this data was unethically sourced in violation of international privacy laws (specifically: no prior notice given and no consent obtained, he just bagged millions of Redditors and made them into unwitting research subjects behind their backs). This is not how actual scientific data research is conducted, it has to follow the law and established scientific ethics. This is how a pathological liar weaponizes the veneer of science to deflect criticism of his malicious self-serving tactics at the expense of others. What is even more worrying IMO is that Bardfinn had once posted about looking into what he termed "commercial models of hate", which suggests he's currently looking into monetizing his unethically and illegally sourced data. I don't know about that. Through my job I met couple of PhDs and some of them were really... exceptional people. One woman I met had similar lifestory to this Bradfinn speaks about. She had alcoholic father, get out of house quickly, married early and divorced early, then get into relationship with dude 20 years older and left him because he's becoming too old (yes, really).

It's interesting that the day before being shutdown, the tranny in question, who is also a saidit admin (https://saidit.net/user/TheAmeliaMay), made and posted a list in several comments of "death threats" being tolerated on saidit by said admins, "in violation of the host companies TOS, and of US law."
The TIC (tranny in question) then threatened to report one or more saidit users to the FBI.
Note that the "death threats" reported by the tranny were on the level of "trannies should be shot" (actual example), and not real death threats. Regardless, how would a host company feel about one of their customers claiming (as an admin) to be:
1. Violating their terms of service by tolerating death threats.
2. Violating federal law by tolerating death threats.
Then having that customer suggest that the FBI needed to investigate the situation. TheAmeliaMay said the "loki88" troll was responsible for the shutdown, by "making some death threats" the host disliked. magnora7 said the host suddenly decided the card used for the site was no longer good, and shut down the site immediately. But it was the tranny himself who created and published the evidence for shutting down the site...

In the Reddit mods discord it has become clear Bardfinn's crew over at AHS have decided to take the route of denying the "dox" is legit (despite there being literal photos of bardfinn's mugshot and despite Bardfinn literally being the one that doxxed themselves all those years ago). it's unclear if they are just taking bardfinn's word for it or if they are believing some sob story bardfinn told them that allows them to feel morally righteous in lying to protect someone that clearly is not the person they presented themselves as.
It's an odd route to take considering Bardfinn has plastered their entire (fake) life on Reddit and it's clear as day their info matches (and again, literal pictures lmao). It just goes to show that those folks will lie and deny reality just to play the victim.

At the same time he was working as a Sysadmin, he was also writing the source code for Windows 2000 (he had a post about how he pulled his Caps Lock Key off because he kept making typos with it). He's that kid in Jr. High who wore raggedy clothes but told everyone he was actually a millionaire, drove a Porsche and was banging the maid. It's all bullshit. He knows enough to pose as an expert to folks who aren't educated on the subject.
I'm not much of a programmer but I took some Computer Science classes. For starters, if you're writing in Octal, that means you're using an 8-bit system. 8-bit systems were antiquated even in the 90's. I'm 5 years younger than he is and even the microcontrollers we were using were 16 bit (which meant that you'd be using Hexadecimal not Octal) and you programmed those with assembly code (which is a step up from machine code).
Also, if you were in college back in the 90's, you weren't using punch cards. My University had a machine that took punch cards, but it had been sitting, unused, in the basement for years. My Dad had used it, but he graduated sometime in the late 70's.
Then we're supposed to believe that this dude can not only program conventionally, but can also skip the compiler and write a program using only his keyboard and the alt key that can be directly sent to the processor? This is such bullshit.
