Even if she was trying to mimic palpable purpura or vasculitis the sores looks like cigarette burns.

She knows we exist, she reads here and lolcow obsessivly, you're just feeding her victim complex. She can point to that and say we're now invading her "safe space".
Read back in the thread, it's not fun when she and her socks start spamming the thread and everyone on her friends list already knows all this stuff. She directs people to her threads, she screencaps us and lolcow and most of her asspatters are munchies themselves or otherwise get off in some way by "helping" people like Kelly.
Lots of people have tried to help her, many are professionals, let them deal with her.
Just sit back and watch the show as it unfolds.

Forgive me for asking instead of lurking moar, but who is paying for all this bullshit? She doesn't exactly seem like the sort of person to pay her own living expenses and medical bills; I'd imagine that someone who cuts off their legs for attention isn't the most useful of human beings.

I'm not a medfag but you can 100% disconnect yourself from pain you're inflicting upon your own body, even the most severe kind of agony.
I imagine her mental ''strength'' to do this all stems from her instability but it's not surprising to me that she can rip nerves from her body without too much fuss.

People take out their own eyes whilst sober but in the midst of an breakdown, destroy their ear drums, let their legs get severed by trains, cut down into the ligaments in* their arms and stick tools under.

It's interesting, grim, but very interesting. Kelly's next level of self torture will be worth waiting for I bet.

This is infuriatingly unfair to think about if you've ever treated cancer patients. Many cancer patients die of infection/s that a normal immune system can easily brush off. Kind, decent people who desperately wanted to survive will die because of these seemingly minor pathogens. Entire families ripped apart because not even the strongest antibiotics are sufficient when an immune system is depleted.

Meanwhile, this bitch intentionally causes sepsis in herself and is (for now) totally fine.

Hard disagree to all bar the last part.

Hospital staff all know who the frequent fliers are, those patients are brought up out of earshot of the public/hyper-offended, and the vast majority of clinical staff despise patients who behave like Kelly does.

There might be a bleeding heart med student who might take offence at overhearing the nastier things said about patients. Or you may have a particularly holier-than-thou nurse in an area. So you wait till they are out of earshot.

However, that does not change the standard of care or the treatment that the patient needs to receive.

Part of the dark humour of a hospital is making fun of people like Kelly for wasting the time and resources of the medical system. It's a coping mechanism.

Talking about the "Kelly's" of the hospital helps to "let off steam" so you can maintain your professionalism and composure when dealing with patients or their families.

usually that type of thing only happens when say, you're in a remote location and your leg is trapped under a boulder so you have to chop it off to live. That's the type of situation that such a mentality is adopted by mentally healthy people.

It's been speculated (no confirmation AFAIK) that she receives welfare and relies on family. She's Canadian so the canuckistani taxpayers have the privilege of paying for her care.

I don't know if it's still true but she used to have housing subsidized by her church.

I've only seen this mentioned once but I want to mention it again although some people might disagree;

I think she didn't expect things to get this far.
She loved the attention her rotting legs were getting and when the skingraft started to heal, I think she overestimated her body and the medical industry.
She started picking again but the healing wasn't as succesful this time, and now they cut her legs off.
I think she expected another skingraft, which would also heal, and then she would do it all over again. In her mind, there would be no long term issues while also milking her dying legs time and time again for attention.
When the surgery was done, she seemed genuinly unsettled that her legs were gone.

i think the full reality of leglessness still hasn't set in for her yet
when it does, she will be hit with overwhelming despair and regret, which might drive her into heavy drug abuse or even suicide
