That legit depresses me, and reminds me of shit I would see in 3rd world countries. What the hell even is this?
America, go back to making promotional shit like this:

Not the best art in the world and riddled with stereotypes, but God it's much easier on the eyes and has more soul, beauty, and personality than those blobs ever will.
It's like that shit is ugly on purpose.

Also, what's your guys' opinion on Adobe Illustrator? I personally don't dislike it, but if anyone has a better alternative, I'm all ears

IMHO regarding anything Adobe: They can sit and spin on it. The fact that their software is not longer a product a client can purchase and instead it is a recurring subscription service the user has to register to use means Adobe controls your access to the tools and there is no op-out if you do not want to update the software. Worse, if for whatever reason they consider that the use of their software is "objectionable" ( They have a Trust and Safety Board just like Twitter or Facebook has so you know how that goes ) then they have the power to permanently ban your account and access to the tools.

As for recommendation, Clip Studio Paint is a very powerful and versatile program that does both raster and vector. It works similar to Photoshop but with illustrators, comic book artist and animators in mind (it includes a fully featured animation suite ) You can actually purchase a license ( either Pro or EX ). download the program and updates are free, their monetization model is based on selling all sort of assets for download ( brushes, textures, 3d models, etc ) but there is also community made content for free.

As for a free there is Krita which it is an open source raster focused program for illustrators and despite being free it is community funded so it is always getting updates, new functions and features regularly.

You don't have to update their software, there is always a suggestion/nagging that pops up but it's not mandatory. You can go years without updating and still run the 2017 version of whatever without problem. Even when updated there is sometimes a choice to run a previous version and I think you can install previous versions as well but I haven't looked into it.

Please explain this, I'm legit curious.

Where do all the old threads end up and how do I find them?
Depends on the board, but the general answer is off site archives. /pol/‘s archive is here:
Search by the thread’s number.
If you want boards not listed, you’ll need to find the other archives on your own. Or get 4chanx and be auto-redirected.

Should you want to, you can now walk around with this shit on your wrist too.

I'd rather slit my wrists than put shit on my wrists.

Anyways it's really cute how Apple and all these companies are giving artistically-deaf retards a chance to show the world how artistic autistic they really are. Though do people actually enjoy this shit? If so, does that make them the bigger autists?

I've seen a somewhat concerning amount of actually talented artists try to defend this gay shit

People on the thread have already expressed some of the reasons why that style became as popular as it is: it's fast, cheap and easy to produce and alter, and the characters are non-descript enough to represent everybody and nobody at the same time. Is it a brown person, a man, a woman, a fat person? We don't know, we just know the skin is orange and the body lumpy ... that's the point. "Globohomo" maybe but the userbase for those compagnies really is spread worldwide and they want every single one of us to use their products. They can't just advertise to whites when the fastest growing markets are Brasil, China, India...

Another reason is probably that everybody watch everything on phones. The screens are smaller and so those illustrations have to be simplistic and brightly colored to grab your attention and be readable even with very little pixels.

I agree that having this trend become associated with wrongthink or even just vague edgyness would kill it. If it was just as popular as wojack memes for political satire it would mean instant death. Ironically the things that made it ubiquitous (easy to throw together to advertise whatever) could be the end of it.

I don't think Adobe allows you to run previous versions anymore. My laptop recently got BSoD'd and I had to replace the hard drive and restore all my files manually. Even after re-downloading the Creative Cloud app, CC 2018 (which I had been using for years by resetting the serial number in the AMT folder) refused to load. I opted to just crack the software I needed from them under a smurf account instead.

Once you update a CC application, you can't go back, at least not through legitimate means. The update nagging is pretty annoying though, not gonna lie.

Weird, I've had it update and it kept older versions that could be launched separately. This was really annoying actually because opening files defaulted to a really old version.

I just screencapped this and god dammit there's another one, at lest this one is less ugly. "Other versions" allows me to go back to the September 2019 release. But why not 2018?

Googling for info on CC 18 it looks like something got fucked up with licensing and Adobe removed it and other versions.

Summary: said:
Last week, Adobe informed Creative Cloud subscribers that programs older than the two most recent version releases would no longer be available to download. Now, Adobe has sent out an email warning subscribers that continuing to use older software could put them at risk of getting sued by third parties.
...
Based on the information provided in the email, as well as previous complaints filed by third parties, it sounds as though the licensing agreement Adobe had for technologies inside select Creative Cloud programs has run out with whatever entities it was licensing it from.

My guess regarding the new and frankly arbitrary practice of only making the two most recent versions downloadable as of 2019 has something to do with the way they write the license document under the AMT folder. Prior to CC 2019, you were able to get unlimited trial periods by resetting a digit in your trial serial number. Adobe stopped showing the serial number into the software license document presumably because the exploit was common knowledge online. They most likely keep serial numbers in their own database now rather than giving them out in downloads.

Maybe because of the way trial serial numbers are listed is why CC 2018 is no longer accessible through Adobe? This is all just my own speculation having spent an inordinate amount of time during my college years trying to get around paying for an Adobe software license.
