How will Eren be stopped?

So wait Eren was wrong to spare 20% of humanity and to trust Armin to gain peace so now most of the Eldians are dead (maybe MAD sitution) and the Titans will come back.

I read this as Isayama telling his editors "fuck you for forcing me to change my story, genocide is always the answer".

Was it ever established the editors were at fault for the changes?

No, but genocide makes the most sense narratively. We know the editors changed things, like Sasha's death. We know the West Taiwanese thought Pixis was racist. Eren loves Mikasa and Ackerman Imprinting isn't a thing comes out of nowhere therefore, the editors changing the ending is inferred.

I also noticed the ending page was written by the editors and doesn't mean anything, like 'thank you Isayama for your great manga that means so much to so many people'.

Do you think the editors told Isayama to fix the ending, he faxed them some pages he drew in a week killing everyone except some kid, and told them to fuck off and never contact him again?

I guess the publisher needed a sequel

Only if the person who wrote 'Before the Fall' writes it.

Genocide is basically what made the most sense and how it was going to end. Everything basically foreshadowed that. Eren never intended to fuck Mikasa or anything like that and the flashback with them talking seemed more like Eren maybe bringing Mikasa into his plan if she felt bigger feelings for him. But since she didn't he decided to go his own way. Everything, narratively, pointed to Eren succeeding. Thematically, tonally and the like.

Isayama not having anyone else offer any solutions and describing Eren's visions, portraying his single-mindedness is a signal that the destruction of the other side is the only answer that is right. Isayama is autistic and a bad story teller, but he's not COMPLETELY retarded. He wrote the signals in there and its why the ending feels absolutely jarring, because it obviously wasn't intended.

Why do the dead come out of PATHS? Because he needed the cringe avengers to win. Why is there suddenly a random worm never described before? Because he needed Eren to have a videogame weak point to be killed. If you look at the ending, its clear that he never intended for them to stop Eren. Its not clear if he intended them all to die, but its very obvious to me that he did not intend them to succeed, because he had no mechanisms for them to do so. So he basically had to invent ones at the last minute. Like the worm, the PATHS ghosts. Armin's talk-fu. All of that is basically done to make Eren lose, and not really by choice it feels like.

The ending where Paradis burns is also another signal that it wasn't intended. No author is going to write a shaggy dog story intentionally unless they're assholes. All signs pointed to Eren winning, because that's what was being built up to. To what end and why were the questions that remained unanswered and I have a feeling that we would have seen Eren's visions as to WHY he was doing what he was doing if Isayama was allowed to go full genocide.

It also speaks to the fact that Isayama basically butchers his own protagonist by making him pathetic and wishy washy. I would have went full "Be careful what you wish for." If the editors told me to change the ending, honestly I would have had them win and all be happy and Armin meet Eren in PATHS, speaking like, "Sorry bro, we had to stop you."

"I gave you the choice to be with me or against me. I decided you weren't worth saving, so I stopped. Because of your arrogance and self-righteousness, your own weakness, this is the end to your story." And just have Eren show the short peace Armin bought, with the world leading to unavoidable genocide and war, literally Ron Paul, this is the future you chose. I think the main problem was he couldn't even do that, but Isayama was not willing to let go of saying, "Yeah, Eren was right. Fuck you."

I also have a feeling that you're right. He just faxed some pages and told them to die in a fire. While genocide would have been dumb, it wouldn't have been objectively terrible like this is, because it is so jarring. I do find it hilarious that it turns out Eren was right all along.

It is kind of sad honestly, as I would have liked to see his true ending. It might not have been as retarded as this, but it always sucks when an author's vision is taken away by editors. And mangaka always have that spite-fuck in them, which is what it seems like this ending is. Because its basically, "Eren was right, fuck all of you, I'm going to my onsen."
Well, that was even more disappointing. Good job Armin, fantastic job.
Armin utterly failed lol and was retarded, lead everyone into a mission where their people get owned and exterminated. So much for Armong being a self insert.

I remember and genuinely believe the theory that Isayama wanted a short manga where mankind has hope once they've reached the ocean. Possibly the one where there is no hope and mankind is fucked ala Mist.

The genocide route is his hatred of the editors and the outcome of Paradis being his work destroyed by their interference.

And of course I lost interest when it was revealed there was a living society outside of the island. Didn't hit anything like in 28 Days Later. I already got into autistic discussions about Marley, I have no interest getting into it again, but I feel obligated to share my opinion much to everyone's horror: Their hatred is justified albeit not their actions. The pigs are not the reason, they are a catalyst, the reason is Fritz forcibly transforming his people into weapons of war to eat and destroy all the other nations. I'd hate Eldians too knowing they could - WITH EVIDENCE - transform into nigh indestructible cannibals as tall as five stories with endless hunger. It's silly to think you'd feel otherwise. Especially after they've ruled your country in a tyrannical fashion where Eldians deemed themselves the superior race chosen by god/Ymir. You absolutely would keep them trapped in districts to easily end their existence at a moment's notice if so much as a mass case a growth spurts occurs.

Isayama handled Marleyan politics well outside of them being no better than the Eldian kingdom before them, but when has humanity ever learned its lesson? The problem was what he did with the characters. I think he genuinely came to hate them as time went on.

A thought occurs. Ymir did this because she loved King Fritz, right? Why isn't he in PATHS? He's Eldian and the other Eldian characters who have died seem to be in PATHS. Wouldn't that basically solve her problem?

No, only her descendants are Eldian.

I thought her descendants were the royal family. King Fritz said his tribe was called the Eldians, and the race that can turn into titans is called the Eldians. It is a little confusing, since Ymir doesn't seem to be from Fritz's tribe, which begs the question as to why the Eldians can turn into titans.
The Eldians who can turn into titans are all descendants of Ymir. The original Eldians, the small tribe following around King Fritz in the flashback, likely either interbred with Ymir's descendants or died out.

Who is the royal family, then, and what makes them special, if the entire Eldian race is descended from Ymir?

Well apparently Ymir lusted for King Fritz cock her entire life, I guess that was the explanation given in the end.
I just presumed Ymir was the King's slave, and therefore kept her mentality as a slave to the king and his family even in death.

What do you mean?
Miura, the author, and illustrator for Berserk who sadly passed away on the 6th. Berserk was well known for its horrific, and yet beautifully, and meticulously drawn art. I can't say much about the plot since I never got into Berserk it was way too squicky for me, but from what little I do know, it's a fuckton more darker, disturbing, and well-written than AoT ever was, or ever will be.

It's an utter fucking tragedy it will never be finished now.
