Why is it that the live action fanworks are good, but most of the animated stuff looks like this?

He does look like he could be a middle aged Shaner.
Also Iron Horse has put so much effort into their FNAF films, it's crazy but admirable at the same time.
Half of FNAF "animation" is SFM stuff because robots are hard to draw I guess
FNAF fandom is all fuckin' 12 year olds who never heard of Night Trap or Showbiz Pizza, fuckin' poseurs, go back to doing your homework.
I like the games, or at least the first one (the only one I own, admittedly), just fine. Simple, goofy point-and-click survival game with broken-down pizzeria animatronics that are 2spooky. I dig that, particularly as an enthusiast of animatronics and haunted house attractions filled with jumpscares. The fandom I've largely steered clear of aside from some well-done fanart stuff. Not sure why this game attracts so many people who haven't hit puberty yet.
But enough on my opinion because that shit is gay and lame, let's focus on the horrible fandom!
Well, there was a brief bout of drama in the Tumblr fandom a while back concerning Scott Cawthon's pre-FNAF The Desolate Hope, and it's pro-life message. Cawthon, when asked about it, waffled a bit, saying the game wasn't necessarily pro-life, and that it was inspired by a friend of his having a miscarriage of a child she had wanted and her grief. Tumblr SJWs, predictably, flipped their shit and demanded a boycott of his games for being an anti-choice shitlord.
As far as I can recall, it just kind of fizzled out because people don't really care that much, but I remember seeing this shit all over my dash.
Also, all this discussion of redeeming stuff in the fandom and nobody has brought up phillip-bankss' art. For shame.

no, there’s no reason to be annoyed with fnaf
they’re fine games. the first one seems almost classic looking back on it, two had its flaws, and three.. well, i didn’t play three. but i’m sure it was alright.
if there’s anything to be annoyed about five nights at freddy’s, it’s the fanbase, obviously
i’ve said it before, but i’ll say it again. the fandom is godawful, sort of like mlp’s fanbase, but not on such a large scale.
not to say i haven’t had good experiences within the fandom, even though i’ve never considered myself “in” the fandom, i’ve met a lot of nice people and made a lot of friends
buuuuut looking back, it’s just one of those phases, like people who have their weeaboo or sonic phases
it’s embarrassing, but hey, it wasn’t all for naught
i did learn how to draw hat brims a lot better
I remember that guy. I think he posted in /fn@fg/ back when there was only one game and people there didn't use the phrase "fandom shaming".Also, all this discussion of redeeming stuff in the fandom and nobody has brought up phillip-bankss' art. For shame.
Fandoms are just like high school, except everything's there forever. Thanks god my early teenage sperging was confined to dead message boards and Gaia Online.Phillip Bankss brings up a good point about the FNAF fandom:
I hope FNAF is just an embarrassing teenager phase like we all have probably had for some sort of media we have clung onto at some point. The spergy youth eventually grows out of Inuyasha, or Twilight, or FNAF, and later goes on to be more socially appropriate, or better artists. A decent member of society.
...Or if they don't, they will become an A-grade lolcow, and we will laugh at them through a thread on these forums. Everyone wins.![]()
I was gonna make a joke about how they deserve to be shamed for fapping to psychopathic child murderers and dead kids stuffed into decaying killer animatronics. Then I googled the phrase to see just what it entails and apparently someone disagreeing with your tastes in culture = being shamed for your fandom. So someone disagreed with them being into a jumpscare game about a haunted Chuck E. Cheese and someI remember that guy. I think he posted in /fn@fg/ back when there was only one game and people there didn't use the phrase "fandom shaming".
There's even FNAF "MikuMikuDance" videos - now the internets can witness hideous animal mascots dancing to Vocaloid songs.
Bonnie and Shamu sitting in a treeSomething about the one with Bonnie and the orca really speaks to me. I kind of love it.
There's a 2deep4u message in here somewhere. Probably something about shamu killing children.Something about the one with Bonnie and the orca really speaks to me. I kind of love it.
What gets me about the FNAF fandom is that much of it is comprised of hardcore tumblrinas. A bit shocking considering it was made by a Texan Christian fundamentalist (who, truth be told, seems like a genuinely nice guy), but I guess tumblrinas live and die by their hypocrisy. The twelve-year-olds are just in it for the 2spooky factor, and I can't imagine PewDiePie pasting his big dumb face over it has helped matters. The fanbase as a whole is just insufferable. I say this like I don't unironically enjoy the first game. Blah blah, we're here to laugh at them.

Here's another one thenI was hoping for a Free Willy/FNAF crossover. I mean, why not, right?
