im afraid, these kind of thing can be a starter for some talent to consider leaving and start independent due the fact management keep limiting their idea, its another dumb idea Japanese company has to not take a risk and playing safe. idk if the talent idea is that risky or it really just from the management side act dumb
I assume it was the thing for the celebration stream, pekora had the same issue iirc.
anything relating merch cover would've to been involved early, either for production or rights management, and while they can always go back on their word doubt they're that unprofessional. can also be a general issue with communication (which happens a lot), having that idea, plan it out, and
then ask for an ok. not only is that a bummer when your idea got shot down, you also already invested some time and effort into it, which makes you less likely to accept (or even want to) why the company understandably shot it down - if they even explain themselves. welcome to corporate hell.
sure, you could go full indie because "fuck you I'm doing my own thing with blackjack and hookers", and could possibly even take quite a bit of their viewership with them if aloe is anything to go by (or lose quite a bit depending on the public perception, people can be veeeeeery fickle), but I'd assume the smarter ones pay enough attention to understand that being under a corporate umbrella is quite different than striking out on your own. not saying being part of a corp is always good, especially depending on the corp, but it
does have it's perks.
TLDR; life sucks sometimes, captain should take a vacation abroad and get a few good fucks to unwind and recharge.
