Having looked at the cuts and progression in the pictures (i.e. read posts by other far more qualified people who looked), it seems real.... which is utterly horrifying. The pictures make me tense and cringe to view. However, there are still a lot of unanswered questions... is that really the boyfriend? Was he the enabler who took pictures? Is she even still alive? Someone mentioned finding an obituary, I hope that they do. Perhaps it is just morbid curiosity, but I want to know what happened. I would like to imagine her being committed, but she may well have been beyond that.... i guess now I just want to know that her pain is over, i don't want to think of her sitting in the corner of some dark room alone with no company but pain and scars. I hope someone finds some kind of closure.
Her motivation is the saddest part. Whatever it was, be it attention seeking or mental health or any combination of enablers... This was once a child, someone with dreams and aspirations and a family. And this became of them. It is just sad.

Holy shit, I remember this girl from years ago.
I didn't know her or anything, but I remember her popping up on 4chan a lot, before Tumblr became a big deal. I think she had a blog though, and would talk about her hospital trips. They kept trying to keep her for observation, and I want to say she was forcefully committed at some point, but she always came back. I actually specifically remember some of these pictures.
It's been at least 6 or 7 years though, so I don't remember anything about her boyfriend. I do remember that most of the time she didn't go to the hospital, she would treat the wounds herself. I guess if you fuck yourself up that bad for that long, you learn how to patch it up.

I've seen some horrifying shit on the internet, and this is up there as among the worst I've ever seen. If she's dead, all I have to say is that her pain is over and that she's in a better place.
