Anyway, this seems fishy to me. Some of this could be make up and others might be photoshop. I've seen some pretty realistic looking gore in my day. Any photoshop nerds wanna analyze this shit?

EDIT: I made an improvement to my image. Now it's funny.

Not a photoshop nerd but I do work in a morgue and have some experience with humans being cut open. That wound is pretty much definitely shooped. The only way you could cut that deep and have no blood present is if a person's heart were no longer pumping blood through their bodies and their blood had coagulated (ie, death). A live human being with a beating heart would not have a clean cut like that, it would be gushing blood. I'm not 100% sure because of the angle of the shot but I'm pretty sure a cut that huge would hit the femoral artery (or at least some of its major branches) and she would bleed out very fast if that were the case. I've actually had the misfortune of having my thigh sliced open down to the bone before by glass and I can assure you that although I felt no pain (shock), I was bleeding like a stuck pig and was about 2mm away from having my femoral artery severed.

tl;dr: experiences suggests this picture is shooped. The others I've seen look very real to me.

At this point I just keep checking to see if anyone has found the obituary that was mentioned earlier. It seems likely but once it's found that pretty much answers everything.

While I find this woman a bit too horrifying for my interests, I'll admit I am curious about the obituary as well, or if anyone can confirm what happened after her blog was deleted.

I would close it for the same reason why the thread on the dog-killer was closed. There wasn't any actual discussion because nobody was contributing anything other than "wow, she's fucked up." There's no point in keeping a thread open if everyone is just saying the same thing.

I'm inclined to agree that there's a degree of fakery at work here. Your leg is not pure fatty tissue down to the bone. Where's the muscle? Not to mention that slicing clean through that portion of your body without major reconstructive surgery would completely destroy your ability to walk.

This may be one of the most relevant discussions to be had. We've had a few suggest the injuries are hoaxes. Do we have any additional evidence of this?

I'm a pretty jaded gorehound and these photos made me squirm. I think a lot of it has to do with the cuts being cleaned of blood so you can see the fat, as well as the fact that these wounds are self-inflicted. And the scars healing over to the point where he arms look like old-lady arms...

I've seen a lot of things in regards to self-injurious behaviors. I've seen relatively minor ones like simple masochism and ritual scarification and ones that come from self-flagellating behavior, but I can't say I've seen self-mutilating behavior of this caliber before - presumably, because I never went looking for it.
