YouTube, for all its faults, has actually worked out a genius deal with the copyright holder unions ASCAP and BIM. These groups allow YouTube uploaders to place basically any music in their videos (but NOT music videos, if I play the music videos I get a global block, and I think ultra stars like Michael Jackson / Beetles also are blocked). The videos are then monetized by YouTube (even when you aren't a monetized partner) and the ad revenue is sent to ASCAP / BIM for disbursement to the appropriate copyright holder(s) (which can be several publishers).

You are not wrong but fuck that was 4 months ago. I, Anuscabbage12 and Denmark Mafia pestered Null to allow the thing to exist to begin with. Thankfully the IP2 posters are "effort posters" and do a really good job so it got green lit. As for if this will cause unforeseen issues down the pipe I doubt it, IP2 and Kiwi Farms seem to work fine together. (Personally I think the IP2 site is gonna fuck up and KF will end up with a bunch of refugees and growing pains from that).
The main issue is that I am trying to depoliticize the site by emphasizing funny people over agendas. The politically active IP2 streamers with unconventional views might cause more friction.
The streamers themselves may have agendas (Baked) for example but from my peering into it and personal experience is non-political chaos. Most of the viewers in the thread do not give a shit about politics they just want to see crackheads do dumb shit. The thread functions like a less tribalistic DSP thread where you can say off shit to some degree and people wont neg rate you and in most cases upvote because its funny. Its a welcoming ecosystem to even foreigners with bad language skills Mao is awesome in the thread even though he is hard to understand. I think its one of the most friendliest threads I have partaken in on this site thus far.
this 'just do your own thing' approach is already hard to do on the internet (as you know first hand) but IRL it is downright impossible unless your goal is being a reclusive hermit who lives completely off the grid deep in the woods - and even then the powers that be can and will eventually find you and encroach on you, it's only a matter of time.

Is there any disclosure on who and why people make the MATCH list, I mean it can and is used for censorship but who is to say that is the reason for those companies to go down how does the public know if it was legit or just a financial gag order.
