Went to Target today, still completely sold out of Series X and PS5, this is six months past their debut, by this time in 2006/2007 and 2014 you could have bought a 360/PS3 or a Xbox One/PS4 no problem.
It's chips. There's a huge shortage of them, and it is affecting everything. It's a PITA trying to rent a car for a business trip right now because even the car manufacturers are short and can't make cars.

Scalpers are the main problem, there would be shortages but it wouldn't be this bad if assholes didn't buy up everything, people have just become rotten these days.

It's primarily the result of the economy going full digital (with the pandemic giving the first push). Rather than have consoles spread over the country, every console (or really every somewhat valued commodity) is sold on amazon, so scalpers buy every thing the millisecond it's out to a huge profit margin. And nobody gives a shit, since big sales figures are more important than having a userbase in today's corporate world.
What's the cause? "The pandemic" is a bit vague.
And yet every other game that did face capture managed it without making the characters look fat, and this mistake coincidentally happened after going woke. Odd that.
