People are either still coping, or being overly cynical about the whole thing. So here’s something to note; Coco was able to make her grand move to retire because she knows it is financially viable to do so. Whether it’s shrewdness on her part or just a happy coincidence (considering she probably didn’t mean to accidentally stream her Asacoco format on her other channel that one time, I’m inclined to believe the latter), Kson being one of the worst-kept identities in all of hololive has also ended up being the perfect golden parachute. A mongrel with no motor functions can still type four letters on the search bar, and she’s been active as both without anyone ever raising an issue. Even when she requested a month hiatus after the Taiwan fiasco, for Kson it was just another day of streaming games and interacting with chat. Now that all the simps can easily find her, they can just migrate and give her a bigger portion of their donations without Cover needing to be involved or answering to a manager. With her subscription already reaching more than a third of Coco’s, she might even be earning more.

As for the other girls? Most don’t have such an option in the cards. Their alt accounts either require you to dig deep, consult a doxxing site with questionable verification in most cases, are literal who’s that struggled to gain views before they were picked up by Hololive, and/or are based in NND where most of the Youtube audience can’t figure out how to access. How are their donators expected to keep supporting them, set up a PayPal account? Only a handful have alts that are as widely known as Coco/Kson’s, and they each have little reason to return to them anytime soon; Noel for example can stream games as everybody’s favorite K-Cup knight and then follow up with ASMR streams featuring her literal K-cups without needing to drop either, Calli joining EN was one of the best things for her career in years, and etc. Only when they have absolutely no interest in streaming anymore will they finally decide to leave, because otherwise, unlike Kson, they would have to start back from square one.

Finally someone said it. Indeed Coco's retirement can only happen because everyone knew she is Kson. Other members, meanwhile, doesn't have the same luxury as her if they decided to retire. The only people I can think of who maybe can pull that off are perhaps someone like Noel or Matsuri, who still have quite active alternate identity (which, by they way, is my top bet for someone who will quit after Coco)
Alternatively, however, there's still a probability that those who retire might have other plan in mind, like settling down and getting married. So take that as you will.

I'm not sure I agree with all of this. Perhaps it was the circumstance in which the Aloe situation panned out, or the fact that her 'past life' account was the literal catalyst for a lot of the Anti bullshit she had to face, but Delta was an account with only a couple thousand Twitter followers and about 4K YouTube subs on a channel that had no content on it, and I recall a lot of back and forth in this thread about that one person making a fake Delta YouTube account, or if it was hacked etc, which may have turned people off of figuring out its veracity and took Aloe's departure at face value.

And yet now she's doing well for herself financially (at least, as 'well' as her income can be when her living situation is the way it is), by using a Patreon system almost exclusively used by and for Japanese creators, from an overwhelmingly non-Japanese fan base.

Her subscriber count currently sits at 136K: just 1K shy of the 137K Aloe had at the time of her suspension announcement, and with only like 2 or 3 public videos to its name. Sure Kson didn't need to worry or work hard to get people to find her, but if Korone made an IRL streamer account tomorrow you'd be out of your mind to think people wouldn't do the work for her.

A fascinating take, and one I agree with. But I think the girls recognize this now. I'm certain they're watching Kson's subscriber count double after Coco announced her graduation and realizing what a great safety net Coco has.
I'd say only Gura and Calli have as badly kept secrets of past identities. I wouldn't be surprised if as a result of this, we see the girls start making personal YouTube accounts in the same vein. Particularly those from Nico Nico Douga.
It'd be a non-issue for them to be "found" by their fans on these hypothetical new accounts too after kson's graduation - the Hololive fanbase is rabid, second only to k-pop stans. And if they want to be found, they could just collab with Kson on their new accounts.
I wonder how long Coco's NDA with Cover lasts, and if Kson will talk about Cover or her life as Coco when it expires. I certainly hope so, it could give us insight we currently lack.

A possibility. It would make sense from a financial standpoint to make a backup account just in case they finally decide they had enough. However, it would require them to foster an active internet presence for a long time like Kson did (some have experienced health issues and burnout from just managing one). I still don’t think we’ll be seeing a flurry of retirements like some are predicting and Hololive ends up a sinking ship because, as implied by their reactions to Coco’s plan to graduate, they’re all almost as loyal to their avatars and the brand as the fans themselves.

Sure Kson didn't need to worry or work hard to get people to find her, but if Korone made an IRL streamer account tomorrow you'd be out of your mind to think people wouldn't do the work for her.

Kson is also a unique case in that she gives absolutely no crap whether you can see her face or not. People are forgetting that there is an appreciable sense of anonymity that comes with being a Vtuber, which is especially salient for the Japanese who have learned to keep their faces hidden as much as possible while interacting on the internet. If Korone leaves, I’m not sure she will be comfortable showing off what she looks like (especially since videos showing her real face are far and few between). Sure, she can just afford a new avatar, but it just won’t be Inugami Korone, the cutest dog superstar. Giving that up will be monumentally difficult. It would take more than a hastily deleted tweet (that might have even been her going through the stages of grief upon learning about Coco) to change that.

That is not entirely true, it was in this thread where people found the EN members past identities within a day of their debut.
As for the JP (and ID) branch, there are some that are pretty easy to find if you search for them, but also quite a few that are harder to find.

I don't like when VTuber graduates especially for sad reasons. But I will totally look after for the guests that will appear on Coco's Graduation event.

I predict it will be massive across not just VTuber industry but even actual JP celebs like Kuroda-san and others.

Well I used to be, but the the reason I bring it up is how shockingly similar the situation seemed to be.
You have a zany talent that pushes the envelope that constantly got chastised by the higher-ups until said person decides to leave after all the BS.
And the unfortunate truth is that coco may not be the only one to leave after this debacle is said and done.

4 months is an incredibly long time to tease a normal announcement, too.

Like normally outfit announcements come a week before they're revealed, music too.
