Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

He didn't really mention it in the first place. Someone here had to go there to get info on that.

If you wanted to, you could go to Impulse one weekend, hope to run into Chris, and see what he does every time: sperg around, creep on girls and flop around to music once in awhile.

He mentioned the burlesque night on his own, however. I guess, again, I got spoiled with last years extremities.

I think you underestimate the importance of the comics to Chris. The comics are his masterpiece, he's not just going to crank something out.

Chris sells the medallions and amiibos because he doesn't give much of a shit about them. The comics, on the other hand, are not to be fucked with.
Really? I thought he always hated doing the comics because it was too much like work. To me it seemed like he mostly enjoyed being the "idea man" - Nintendo, go out and follow these instructions to make the game happen.

I get the impression publishing the comics publicly is not a particularly pleasant memory for Chris. He constantly felt hassled and stressed about it. And trolls were able to interfere with the actual content of the comics in a way that Chris resents.

He seems very wary of going back to those days. One theme of his current selling streak is that he wants to maintain control. Everytime he starts to lose control, he gets pretty pissy and readjusts his business model to move it back towards "I make what I want when I want. People give me money".

I can totally see where it's coming from. For a while trolls controlled and fucked with a lot of different aspects of his life. He would love to make a little extra money of Sonichu, but not if it throws him back into the hands of the trolls. So he is being careful. I can sympathise with that.

Producing more comics may be a no-go zone in Chris' brain because of that. But if he does do it, my guess is it will be in a way carefully calculated (by Chris standards) to maintain control. Limit the feedback, limit interaction about it, limit pressure and stress. He writes a comic, and when he does, if you want to read it or pay him for it, great. Otherwise, he has no interest in hearing from you about it.

There was a period of time where he frequently use facebook to "communicate" with local lesbians. Describing his gender identity transformation and what he was looking for from them.

That could have stopped for any number of reasons. I suppose he might have been advised to stop or simply said all the things he had to say. But it's not his style to listen to others feedback or avoid repeating himself. It seems to me most likely that those things aren't front of his mind every day.

He does hate the actual work. And yeah, he definitely would prefer some big company take over the hard parts.

The amiibos aren't really Sonichu. They're more like a snapshot or a portrait of Sonichu. The comics are actually Sonichu. Like they're the closest Chris can get to a flesh-and-blood Sonichu. So he doesn't want to leave his best friend with a poorly executed environment for a little bit of cash.

This is pretty accurate. He really does want to continue with the comics, but he wants it to be perfect, and frankly, he doesn't have the time to make it perfect. In the past, when he was cooped up inside the house with nothing to do, he had nothing but time on his hands. Things are pretty different nowadays.

I think he does believe he'll eventually work on more comics. I don't think he will though. That's because of his really fuzzy understanding of the passage of time.

Chris' lesbian posts are either random essays to his public, slacktivist clickbait shit, or the occasional personal ads. Chris talking about his gender identity stuff was less of the "personal ad" category and more of the "random essay" category. I didn't expect the personal ad posts to last too long, considering Chris had other social outlets like the LGBT bowling and stuff like that.

I hope not in a way that could get him kicked out of Impulse.
Nah I don't think so. From what I've seen he knows where the line is with women. He just likes to stand creepily close to the line and peer over it. So while he's surely making women uncomfortable, he won't get banned unless he crosses that line. And Chris is too much of a coward to cross that line regardless of how much he wants to.

I doubt men like Chris are all that uncommon at places like Impulse. I think it is probable that there are actually people there who sympathize with him. Maybe not in a become my life partner and best friend way, but they harbor feelings of goodwill toward him.

Or perhaps I'm being optimistic.

I think that's probably a lot of people's initial feelings. Either Chris ruins that, or they just forget about Chris and go back to watching the show or whatever.

I don't see guys like Chris being common anywhere. Guys who have been documented on web TV shows, efukt, have an entire wiki about them and who have been catfished to death over the course of 7 years aren't exactly a dime a dozen. I don't see long haired guys walking around like they got dressed in grandma's closet every day. Chris isn't a victim of circumstance. He is a major topic of discussion here because he exists at this unique location of the universe where stupid, naive, and unique come together in a splendid climax. That is a bit hyperbolic, but there's only one Chris. I don't think the world could handle two.

Yes, but you don't know that from looking at him. Most people probably assume, not incorrectly, that Chris is an unfortunate-looking mentally deficient transwoman who might be obnoxious and occasionally inappropriate, but overall means well.

Chris uniqueness depends on how specifically you define him.

Are there other guys in the LGBT community who are socially awkward, lonely and isolated, and confused about sexuality and gender issues? Almost certainly, and there are definitely others who will go to some effort to be friendly and make them feel wanted.

Are there people with as weird and fucked up an internet history as Chris? Are there people who have spent thousands of hours loitering around with an attraction sign? Are there people who have gotten arrested for pepper spraying someone over the colour of a cartoon character's arms? Probably not. These things might keep the friendly locals at arm's length.

The consensus, based partly on evidence, seems to be that Chris is welcome at Impulse and LGBT events. That a lot of people will spend 5 or 10 minutes chatting with him every now and then. But people don't get more involved with him than that.

It seems to make him happy. Chris doesn't have a great sense of meaningful friendships. So nice people to chat to fulfill a lot of his quota for socialization.

At some point, he may get frustrated. In some ways, Impulse reminds me of his church. People chatting for a few minutes happened at church too. And Chris seemed to think of them as his personal army of close friends. Then they weren't so he got frustrated and left.

How many gay bars have you been in?
So, gay bars are lousy with M2F trans guys who have let their hair go to hell, dress like the grandma section at goodwill exploded at them and hand out sex cards? I ask because the three gay bars I have gone to with my niece and wife have been stocked with either old creepers, young twinks and gym freaks and women who just enjoy the atmosphere. The one trans bar was basically a mix of passable and non-passable trans, but none of them were there dressed as "unique" as Chris dresses and I saw no one passing out business cards. Chris is a unique character, it doesn't matter how you cut it.

Yes, but you don't know that from looking at him. Most people probably assume, not incorrectly, that Chris is an unfortunate-looking mentally deficient transwoman who might be obnoxious and occasionally inappropriate, but overall means well.

Of course you don't know his history from looking at him, however he is a very uncommon sight. There aren't many people who leave the house dressed like him, and my main point was that he is a relatively uncommon sight.

Mr. Varis doesn't like hearing about Chris. He doesn't like hearing about him at all. So when the people in the chat he frequents started talking about Chris, he came to me about it:

Mr. Varis: [quote from someone talking about Chris wanting to be a stripper]
Mr. Varis: Why do I keep getting information on him? Why? :c
Varis: That was fake, actually.
Mr. Varis: Ah.
Varis: Which do you think is worse: that you keep hearing things about him, or that I can correct the information?
Mr. Varis: I don't know...

No, he probably qualifies as a weirdo even by those standards. But he's probably not the only weirdo.

I'd guess this was in a city where there would be a bunch of possible LGBT hangouts. Impulse is a location in a tiny rural town, where it is basically the option for anyone who isn't straight.

This is pure speculation on all our parts, though, except the one or two people here who have actually been at Impulse when Chris is there.

Yeah, Detroit for some reason has a lot of gay bars, bath houses and a few clubs for trans people. They're all in the most ghetto areas, too.

So today I was bored and did a reverse look-up on Whitepages on Chris' (old?) home number. Weirdly enough, one of the registered occupants is a 'Christina W. Chandler', as well as a couple of other names.

Also, on November 7th, 2010, Chris posted on a website for 'Lost & Found Manchester High School Class Rings' for his 'Class of 2000' ring. Not sure if this has been reported anywhere, but here:

I'm sure this has been asked before, but do any of you think Chris's life would be affected in any way if his babysitter never locked him in his room giving him the fear of speaking for 6 years?

You might find this hard to believe, but there are these people on the internet called "trolls". They like to play silly pranks on people like Chris by doing things like this.
