I get the impression publishing the comics publicly is not a particularly pleasant memory for Chris. He constantly felt hassled and stressed about it. And trolls were able to interfere with the actual content of the comics in a way that Chris resents.
He seems very wary of going back to those days. One theme of his current selling streak is that he wants to maintain control. Everytime he starts to lose control, he gets pretty pissy and readjusts his business model to move it back towards "I make what I want when I want. People give me money".
I can totally see where it's coming from. For a while trolls controlled and fucked with a lot of different aspects of his life. He would love to make a little extra money of Sonichu, but not if it throws him back into the hands of the trolls. So he is being careful. I can sympathise with that.
Producing more comics may be a no-go zone in Chris' brain because of that. But if he does do it, my guess is it will be in a way carefully calculated (by Chris standards) to maintain control. Limit the feedback, limit interaction about it, limit pressure and stress. He writes a comic, and when he does, if you want to read it or pay him for it, great. Otherwise, he has no interest in hearing from you about it.
