I don't think it can achieve the levels of wasted potential SU had, SU was the cartoon equivalent of LOST, All the hyping of the mystery aliens, all the hyping of the diamonds, a season dedicated to some super weapon that took forever to get to and then was solved in less than half an episode by kissing it. FUCKING HOMEWORLD AND THE HISTORY OF THE GEMS AND THE MOMENT WE GET TO SEE IT STEVEN FUCKS OFF BACK TO EARTH AND SPENDS THE REST OF THE SEASON FUCKING AROUND IN THE TOWN, FUCKING SERIOUSLY THERE WAS LESS BORING TOWN BULLSHIT IN THE EARLY SEASONS WHERE YOU START OFF SLOW AND INSTEAD YOU PUT IT RIGHT INFRONT (Instead) OF THE CLIMAX?
Autistic, but true. I know many who were fooled by the show. I never watched it past episode 3 and followed along through friend commentary and reading summaries. Props to E;R for the best review of the series at the time.
On my end, I never thought it was good. Like... ever. Maybe I'm a jaded old fuck but creators with tendencies like the crewniverse always, always
ALWAYS use their shitty show as a platform to preach as opposed to telling a satisfying and consistent story. You could tell that, though Steven's retarded, and emotional nature was toned down, they wanted an effeminate end to this series so they all hug it out and shit.
They say
'write what you know,' but for all these mentally ill creators, they sure do suck at portraying mental illness convincingly in their stories. It's because they don't fully realize realize it's their entire pathological disposition that's at fault - these people at their core are awful. Sure these types make jokes "Oh im so fuckin [x] or whatever," But it's always something they glorify. In reality, they always use a self-diagnosed strawman as the fallguy for their bad mental health and behavior. Then when they make stories they design heroes "like them" who are also "Cool but flawed"..... in their mind only; in reality the characters they create are vile, narcissistic trash whom nobody in real life would ever want to associate with (Seen in it's purest form in the
New Guy comic). I work with these types. I'm going grey early.
Art from artist or whatever but heed this warning:
People like Vivzie who cannot control themselves on social media are unable to separate themselves from the art they make. If she's in a lead writing position at all, the shows will inevitably devolve into her pure self-indulgence . Currently it's surface level shit - we get it she likes musicals - But it will soon move to her politics and whatever spergy nonsense she rants about like mental health.
This is to Vivzie herself. She'll probably never read it, but I'll try anyway. breathe woman and use your social media for advertisement only. If you feel like ranting, keep a journal, type out whatever bug is up your ass, and get it out of your system. Do not let your show with an established fanbase die off because you couldn't help yourself. Grow up.
Rant over. Now to follow my own advice and return to silently lurking.
