Yeah, but it takes out all the monotaneous shit of programming. Debugging in factorio is quick, you can see all the shit right in front of you visually, no sorting through thousands of lines of code in different files. You automate your automation. The progression curve in the game is so perfect that, once you've fully understood an idea, you can automate that concept. No sitting around writing the same shit over and over. It's all the things people like about programming, solving puzzles, building huge projects that end up being super complicated in the end, thinking about design, about how you even go about solving problems.

If you like programming but never got into it because of the time barrier, and it's not something you want to do as a career, play Factorio. If you love programming and do it as a job, but are feeling burnt out, play Factorio, it'll remind you of all the shit you used to love about programming. It's really something special, insanely well designed.

It's a game that somehow manages to be insanely relaxing and chill, while also never feeling like you're doing chores, like in Animal Crossing or Stardew valley.

Yeah, I think you'd have to assume malicious intent to interpret what he said here as being pro-pedo. It's intellectually disingenuous to just assume such intent with the provided context. Some people are poor communicators, but he flatly and bluntly disavows child abuse at the end of his post. I think his problem is that he's focusing on the wrong part of the question too, This SlickSinkBro person is inferring that all teacher/student relationships are between children and adults, instead of doing what most people do in that situation and go along with that assumption for the sake of argument, a poor communicator, (or someone who may not understand, which has the same result) may instead focus on the wrong part of what was said, in this case it's a matter of technically, where he's asking "well you said teacher / student, that doesn't always involve kids."

Basically assuming he's a pedo based on this exchange is dumb.

the thing is that his plebbitor followers that were assmad tried to spin the question to make it like a standing point, he clarified himself on a 2nd post to even it out.

I think Michael Jackson was an eccentric and most likely a child abuser but goddamn his music was good. No scandal from his history will stop me from playing Billie Jean or Heartbreak Hotel on my commute.
People are too parasocially involved with the creators of their favorite things to decouple art from artist these days. It's one thing to be a fan of someone's talent and quite another to expect their private opinions to be in lockstep with whatever cause or ideology you care about presently.

Honestly the only time I think anyone should care about a creator's personal politics is when they start to bleed into their art. This is often to the detriment of the viewer/listener/player; no one likes hamfisted politcal drivel in their escape from the daily political miasma.

All that aside, I guess I'll have to pony up the cash and buy Cracktorio now. Based Czech deserves a sale for having a spine.
