In the former Eastern Bloc, anti-communism is basically a liberal ideology. You find it concentrated in the university-educated, white collar, urban and younger demographics, who generally want EU integration and immigration and globalisation. If you go out into the sticks and ask some factory-job boomers what they think about it, you'll find a lot more "things were perfectly fine back then and capitalist libtards are ruining our country" attitudes. Kovarex doesn't seem the slightest bit right-wing ; from what I can see, he's the perfect model of an eastern bloc progressive, and eastern progressives hate commies like western progressives hate cops.
But these retards are so fucking Americentric that they immediately rush to calling him a 'far-right conservative' because they can't wrap their tiny little heads around the fact that communism is the conservative opinion when you're in an ex-communist country.
