Monica and co didn't help their case either by basically going "See?? We told you Vic was a bad guy! Even Funi got rid of him!"
Then Ron started talking about it like he knew the supposed investigation that went on that Monica claimed was confidential when people asked her about it. Ron, someone who is not employed at all by Funimation who implied that he was aware of the reasons surrounding Vic's termination and making others believe that it was because he was a sex pest or whatever.
To add even more, Funimation did nothing to stop Monica and co from spreading this narrative and they still did nothing when Monica and co used their termination tweet as a rallying flag and undeniable proof that Vic was the molester they were accusing him of being. Funimation's excuse as to why they didn't try to stop the spread of the narrative is that they said anyone who read the tweet was too stupid to understand that they didn't fire him for sexual harassment, even though they literally mention harassment in the fucking tweet saying they terminated him. That makes anyone who reads it assume Vic was terminated because of harassment and no other reason. They didn't even bother to try and fix the tweet and they just let everyone believe what they wanted.
Ofc with KV we might as well be talking to a wall and watching the paint dry because no matter how much you break down something to make as logical explanation as possible, they will just believe what they want to believe no matter what.
