Having followed FlickBlob through the years, he's a great example of the corrosive, brain-rotting effects of social media. 40 years ago, Bob would have been a mediocre movie critic at his local paper, unoriginal and arrogant, but unexceptional. He might have probably gotten out of the house on occasion, exercised a little, and put some basic care into his appearance. His politics would have been that of a normie Democrat of the era.
He still would have been a mopey loser, but a more functional, tolerable one, versus a delusional progressive clown who lives on Twitter far more than he does in the real world and cackles with glee at the prospect of inflicting pain and misery on his enemies list, which includes anyone slightly to the right of Bernie Sanders...and their kids. The constant barrage of progressive Twitter hot takes and rage, day after day, month after month, year after year, however, has broken his already malleable brain and weak will.
Of course, with him being a 40 year-old straight white male who is ugly and annoying, with an increasingly niche audience, even the progs barely tolerate him (even older, increasingly irrelevant ones like Lindsay Ellis), and it's only a matter of time before they attack him.
