I was looking in some MCYT related discords lately, and in BBH's discord, there's been more than one person come in and announce they have DID to everyone and them immediately start pretending like they're switching between 5 different people. The disc called them dumb and told them to fuck off.

However, I also took a look in Sapnap's discord, they have a long pin describing a bullshit version of DID with a glossary, and I've been told people have been banned for refusing to indulge others fantasies. Interestingly the pin isn't even in the rules channel, and it's added by a staff member who doesn't have Sapnap, or Dream, or anything else, added as a friend. I feel like the lunatics run the asylum.

Make a discord just for people who claim to have did hmmmmmmm.

Shit like this makes me optimistic because, for a majority of these fans, their obsessive followings of things are really a phase in their life, and for the most part, they grow out of it, find their center, and learn to laugh at how cringey they were back then. It's a cycle since time immemorial and everyone has gone through a point of that in their lives sometime

The fact people are being passive-aggressive and going “no way it HAS to be the fandom, the smp videos cant be that boring!” makes me wonder what they find so entertaining about it. Sorry if its a little late but i had to share my thoughts about the Karl vid: The fact that Karl says with a straight face that Dream deleted the mods folder "in a rage" and just accepts that is one of the stupidest things I have ever heard. I've broken things before in a rage, but I've never methodically deleted files, particularly the very files that would reveal that you were cheating, all the while maintaining that you were completely unaware of the folders contents. You literally have to be a retard to believe this shit, there is too much money on the line and this guy already paid people to fabricate testimony and everyone remains anonymous like some media hit piece. Even if you are approaching this testing a hypothesis of innocence, about 20 minutes into Karls video is the moment where a fair person considering the hypothesis should realize its not adding up and can safely conclude the dude cheated, but Karl picks up the smoking gun and throws it in the trash while stating a illogical, unrelatable and manipulative appeal to emotion.

Karl's is used to investigating autistic 007 speedrunners who at most get like 50 viewers, cheating there is low stakes and only prestige and respect among the Elite community is one the line. This is different, Millions of dollars, Dream, His numerous employees, and their salaries are on the line, and the prestige and popularity aspect is 10,000 times more significant as well. You need to be infinitely more critical when going from investigating pointless videogames to actual monetarily backed corruption and his incapability to even consider the potential of conspiracy transpiring over something this important makes him seem incredibly low iq or outright disingenuous, particularly after being so open to testing the innocence hypothesis without limits and against all common sense. Dream has already demonstrated that he will pay whoever it has to be whatever he needs to have that authoritative figure declare his innocence and convince the public, and after his other videos on the topic, that man was clearly Mr Jobst. I'm not gonna comment on the bought off claims, considering this is the first I've seen it brought up, but at this point in time there is no party involved with the situation who's been able to provide evidence that refutes what Karl went over. Furthermore, Karl actually said the opposite multiple times, saying that you should never blindly question what people tell you, and that you should do your own research before coming to your own conclusions.

All of that said, you're severely overvaluing the impact this entire situation has had or will have on Clay's career. At this point, he's yet to get into a controversy that has majorly impacted his growth, and I doubt he'll get into one any time soon.

I'm still adamant that no matter how dry a Minecraft Youtuber may be or how mediocre they are, so long as they are at LEAST conventionally attractive, teenage girls will make fanart of them, music video edits, and fixate on them the way teenage girls have done for time immemorial, and this snowballs into them getting more and more attention much to the chagrin and confusion of people outside of the loop.

You got Dream and his team who (at least appear to be or project to be) attractive white boys that teenagers can project their fantasies to and often encourage them to do so; You have Wilbur and Tommy and others who have a bit more charisma, but are also relatively attractive looking; hell, you can have someone who doesn't show much of their face like Ranboo or Techno, and fans will still find a way to fetishize them

The content and novelty of their Minecraft videos are only secondary to their innate appeal and what appeal their fans project on them in their heads. It's something that I believe Clayton is very much aware of and weaponizes whenever he can.

Yeah he's clearly not confident in his looks or something is up that he goes to such great lengths to hide the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if he's actively trying to meet the image he has fostered with his fans, but it's possible his natural build is too manly at this point to even reach that ideal. I mean all the fanart I see is basically the exact same teenage boy build that most guys grow out of in their 20s, some even sooner. Clay is a whale so it's hard to say say what his natural build is, but I've wondered if he has lost weight and realized he can never look like the Dream in any of the fanart.

Or he's still very much obese and just riding things out with the intent to never reveal himself, which would mean blatantly lying about meetups.

Gotta keep in mind that basically everyone who got introduced to the smartphones, especially younger people, have an unbelievably short attention span. I'm sure soon enough these kids are gonna find some other MC Youtuber or another niche creator they can obsess over within the next couple weeks. After all, MCYT especially is filled with replaceable creators who are carbon clones based on content and "humor".
This isn't to say his channel is gonna die, because I don't think it will for a very long time. There are plenty of people who watch Dreams content and don't use Twitter and just want some Fast Food content. Hell, I'd say that would be the best case scenario for Dream, to keep getting views and have his shitty fanbase fuck off to someone else. Unfortunately, it would definitely slow down his lolcowdom, as his obsessive and insane fans will probably move on to some other creator.
