The trick is that those are all set relatively shortly after the main games so they can convince themselves that "X and Y" are still together, it just happens off screen and wasn't important to the plot. Where you would have a sticking point is if they did something like bringing back a bunch of P4 characters aged up 6 years to meet the P5 characters. Then you would have endless bitching about why their waifu isn't married to the protagonist and so on. I presume that's why the Persona Q spinoffs all relied on some time travel BS and wiping everyone's memories.You'd think the sequels like DAN, Arena, Strikers and The Answer that dont address that would set them off
