A lot of streamers cover the map when they are streaming in order to prevent people from stream sniping. Obviously, Phil hasn't figured out how to do that.

I apologise, just had to get that out of my system. I'm going to be away for a while as I'll be staying in hospital for a stretch. I just want to share something with you all.

I went for a coffee with a girl friend of mine earlier. She is in no way an Internet person, she has FB and Instagram and that's as far as she goes. She came back from the shitter and saw me scanning the farms on my phone, she asked what it was. I told her it's a place to laugh at failed humans. I then told her I use it for shitting on DarksydePhil. She then shocked me with "DarksydePhil sounds familiar, wait isn't that the wanking guy?"

She doesn't play video games, she doesn't know shit about the Internet, she has no interest in anything other than reality TV, but she knows that Phil is the wanking guy.

Rule #1 when dealing with Phil: Phil is a narcissist, and nearly everything he does is around his ego.

After a rough June and streams with stupid high tip to contributer ratio, Phil's ego took a beating. The "silent majority" messaging is an attempt to build his ego and self-validation. He wants to believe that there are more people who support him than there are detractors.

Phil and logic are the internet chat equivalent of bleach and ammonia. They are not to be mixed unless you’re able to quickly exit the area and close the door behind you.

The silent majority story works very well for Phil because he is good at making statements which at least in theory benefit him in some fashion but are impossible to disprove. Of course you can’t see or hear the silent majority, dummy, they’re silent. Never mind how Phil supposedly knows they’re there considering the man can’t be arsed to turn his head in the direction of his audience unless they’re shaking dollar bills at him like the over-the-hill stripper he is. What matters is that he says they’re there. Thousands of them! Waiting in the wings, one might say.

Well. Only one way to prove that. OIC, GaryBKK, Pastryarchy: stand down. One week. Let the silent majority take the reins for a while. Sock some money away for the next marathon. Surely it won’t hurt Phil any; they can just donate behind the scenes, right? The majority maintains their silence and Phil gets the money he needs.

It's nothing more than a new sales pitch that he's trying out. But there's something about Phil that a lot of people here have observed over the years: that he tends to start believing his own bullshit.

Sooner or later, the day is going to come when he's sleepwalking through a kid's game on normal difficulty for two hours, glances over at his chat and sees that they're engaged in a conversation amongst themselves about music or anime or whatever else, looks at his paypal and sees that he's only made three dollars, and he's going to get angry that the "silent majority" that he's convinced is out there hasn't stepped up and given him the positive support he deserves. He'll beg his chat for money and then melt down and scream in rage when they laugh at him. He'll log off and try to take his mind off things by playing WWE Champions, but then run out of money before he succeeds in pulling the card he really wanted. He'll angrily eat the bland frozen dinner his roommate heated up earlier, drink himself into a stupor, and rant on twitter before falling asleep. Then the next day he gets to do this all over again, watching and waiting for the silent majority to heed his call and give him the money he's entitled to for all the hard work he does for them.

It will be a beautiful, beautiful day.
