DC and Marvel comics are already being phased out. They’re focusing more on the kid and young adult graphic novel game, which is more lucrative and doesn’t have plot baggage. 10-20 years, the Marvel or DC single issue will probably be a relic.
Manga beats comic sales for a lot of reason, self-contained, usually has an anime adaption, and is cheaper (you can get a volume for the price of two comics).
The real test is when one of their movies bombs and it’s not something they can bury like the Inhumans. Disney is the more likely candidate to liquidate their entire comic line if they can’t justify it even as an IP farm (look at what they do to characters they don’t have movie rights to)
