I thought Rex Viper was a fucking joke or gag I missed out on.

Oh God James... what are you doing to yourself?
Chris Bores will stand atop the bones of the AVGN and Nostalgia Cuck, just wait.
Chris Bores is probably worse off than both of them considering he has to rely on making content for toddlers or insane conspiracy ramblings. His Irate gamer videos are really forgettable nowadays.

AVGN will at least be remembered as a cornerstone of internet video, similar to how Simpsons will always be remembered as a cornerstone of animation.

Irate Gamer will probably be in the footnotes as a third-rate knockoff of a better show (is there even a Simpsons knockoff to compare it to?).

Bores would be compared to Family guy since he did have a crossover with James before and is the most popular of the Nerd clones.

To a greater extent, maybe The Critic? But to a much lesser extent, one of the numerous mature prime time cartoons developed by major networks in the early '90s to rival with The Simpsons, such as Family Dog, Capitol Critters, Fish Police, and Dog City. If you don't remember those shows, then congratulations – you're not the only one. Basically, at the height of Simpsons yellow fever, ABC, CBS, and NBC tried to get in on the action by launching their own brand of satirical animated sitcoms. Obviously none of them were successful, but some of us older Kiwis still remember their feeble attempts to take The Simpsons down a peg.

Well, now I know! I can probably make a comparison between those shows and the AVGN knockoff shows.

Which reminds me, does anyone here remember the AVGN Jr/Irate Gamer Jr/etc Jr shows that ran rampant back in the day?

James looks like an absolute chad next to Joe Dirt’s even more hillbilly cousin and Billy Kincaid’s clone. I feel bad not having paid my two bits to gawk at the freak show
James always had a better physique than most of the people he hung around with

Anyway...
Ignoring the video itself, it appears the next AVGN episode is going to be on Pac-Man. I hope this means he'll actually show passion in the episode and not be boring or cringe like the past two episodes carmageddon 64 good

I'm glad James confirmed that the podcast is going to be even worse than Rental Reviews. It's James, Kieran and Justin. Good God what a crew. If James can barely bother with movies and games with Mike I can't imagine him staying through an entire aimless podcast without falling asleep as his co-hosts talk over each other about spergy shit no one and I do mean no one cares about.

I can't imagine how everyone involved is gonna give less of a fuck, but I trust James to find a way.

I mean, the one thing he can do is cover Pac-Man 2: the New Adventures and that game was... Well it's not horrible but it's not what people wanted. I remember randomly getting it as a kid since it was a bargain bin title, and I remember thinking "Oh, it's not a platformer but it's a pseudo adventure game where you can sometimes control Pac-Man?" I had nothing better to do and remember beating it. It was not an enjoyable experience. The most fun you get is using the slingshot to hit Pac-Man in the face and make him cry like a bitch.

I'm guessing it'll be about the notoriously bad Atari 2600 port of Pac-Man. The graphics were blocky and dully-colored, the ghosts flickered because the game only drew one of the four of them per frame, and the maze was unrecognizable compared to the arcade game's. The 2600 was capable of far more, as shown by the far superior Ms. Pac-Man port - which still wasn't perfect but at least showed effort and competence.

There's only so much you can talk about with an Atari game. Plus the game, for all it's faults, still plays like Pac-Man. Which means that unless the video is padded with unfunny sketches it will focus on a variety of Pac-Man games including the arcade Pac-Man 2. Of course, Screenwave can do both and cover a variety of games with unfunny cringe sketches.

I rented that once as a kid. It sucked. I'm wondering if it was planned to have a different protagonist originally, because it has very little to do with Pac-Man.
