Money September 2, 2015: Chris moves to Etsy, suggests "donating to book #11 and beyond"

Of course it's not possible to say exactly to what extent Chris lurks here, but I do distinctly recall a steady trickle of posts along the lines of "I'd definitely contribute money toward Sonichu #11".

So it's not like his current scheme is entirely detached from reality.

So, as you guys saw earlier in the thread I wanted to try donating to see whether the promised character image would be sent digitally or through the mail. Well, I got this in my email about an hour ago...

Looks like I'm getting another hand drawn original.

(By the way, I'm only posting this here in case anyone else was curious, so they don't have to donate and find out for themselves.)

Love to see him graduate to a Pentel ink brush pen!

I'd love to see him dabble in gouache (let alone buy higher grade paper like Bristol, I'm sure Walmart or wherever he has left to go to has 'em).
Yip. He just has to remember to get materials that say acid-free or archival quality, then there shouldn't be an issue with cheap materials degrading over time.

Does he have access to a Micheal's? Sometimes they have some really nice mixedmedia books on sale... Maybe if he does check out Etsy's forum someone will lead him in that direction. Quality vs. Quantity. (And then prints)

Hi there everyone! I was curious about how Christine would have handled the sonichu #11 thing, so I asked her on Etsy.

She said that the $10 donation is for just one page of Sonichu, everyone can donate more, and this means more pages, but you can receive only 1 hand-drawn original per donation.

she also said tha an "anonymous benefactor" already commissioned 10 pages, and that all the sonichu #11 pages will be uploaed to her facebook.

And, as @Trickie pointed out, the requested drawings will be shipped via mail. not sure abouty the original pages though.

First time here, I hope I've given some useful information.

If Chris gets money to do Sonichu 11, he completely deserves it, and he even deserves it if he completely shafts anyone autistic and retarded enough to donate to his Patreon.

Can we see the correspondence? For historical purposes.

I called him a her and tryed to be as kind as i could, hoping in a fast response.
And he actually delivered.
I wonder how soon is "soon?" Given that Chris claimed it takes an hour to do a page of Sonichu and he has no obligations other than running the occasional errand and making Sonichu crap, I don't think he could justify longer than a week.

Thanks, Trickie! If your drawing works out I might get one. Honestly, the price is right.

I also like to see "waterproof" and "fadeproof" taken into consideration too.

We hope.

Charlottesville does have a Michaels he could go to (as long as he manages to keep to himself and hopefully never stops at the Crayola aisle).

Could it be one of his white knights? I mean, there is people here willing to buy him pages, but 10 in one shot seems too much for a kiwi.

There is always going to be a bunch of people claiming that what Chris is doing is really dumb.

It's partly because he makes things sound dumb. So if you were a supporter of him drawing comics for money, you read this announcement and think "wow, he makes that sound so stupid, maybe it wasn't such a great idea after all."

But there is also a decent chunk of the people here who will get pissed anything remotely good happens to Chris. Due process takes a while in his legal case and the board explodes with rage. We can't take it too seriously.

People have been wanting more comics for years. Sure these new ones might be dumb and boring but it will be nice new content.

I'll be scanning it and posting it up too.

I also just noticed that Chris is using the picture I commissioned from her as the front image for the B&W commissions, and that all the images for it and the color commissions seemed to come from the Cwcki. I thought that was interesting.

At this point, most of us might be willing to fork out a dollar to five bucks just to see the next issue

I'd recommend maybe waiting until we know if Chris is going to deliver on the pages that have already been paid for before people go pile on at once. I know for sure I paid for one, and it seems there's at least one other person who paid for others, so if she comes through on those we'll have a little more assurance of a return.

I don't plan on paying, because I don't have spending money to waste on something like this.
