Here's an example pulled from real life: Hypothetically, let's visit ten years in the future, and someone says they heard back from CWC.
He's found a place to live, someone lends him their trailer in exchange for some work while they're at their job. He mentions obliquely his "wife" keeps telling him she wants to watch spongebob... you're happy he turned his life around! Maybe he married someone a little special like him, or she's just an avowed 90's kid.
You hear her voice in the background, and your stomach drops. You put together what kind of work he's doing. Turns out he's 'working' as a babysitter, and he's taken to calling the 6 year old girl in his care his wife. The mother doesn't really care about any molestation, after all "he's so nice" and "he's basically asexual, right?". She long ago gave up on sending the girl to school because she'll miss out on money if she loses custody. You call the sherriff's office for an intervention, hoping against hope your hunch is wrong and you're overreacting.
This is a real situation I saw one time, and it's fairly sanitized of the grosser details. In this case, the guy is still in prison. He was mentally damaged maybe worse than chris, he only really realized he did something heinously wrong once he had some jail time under his belt. He really can't model or empathize with people, so he thought his "new love" (barf barf barf I hate even typing that) was just as over the moon as he was in their new relationship. The very idea she was horrified was not even in the realm of possibility to him.
I am like 90% sure that she pushed him into actually doing it. In the call she mentioned something about dancing with barb or meeting her atleast, and was totally going along with his rapey shit. If chris did this all on his own without trolls pushing him into doing it then I will be shocked.
Wouldn't this be the gold medal, the brass ring for the trolls? Think about it, you could be THE troll, the guy that took an internet legend and undid him, induced him to acts directly contravening natural instincts so strong they make the uninitiated dry wretch. You have ruined an era, destroyed a mascot, like painting a mustache on the mona lisa. It profanes what was once a relatively fun piece of internet lore.
I really do feel bad for null right now. He not only has to keep up to date with this whole mess, he also has to deal with potential legal issues concerning this shit show.
I feel bad for him, as kinda the ONLY positive helping force in Chris's life, he's now catching flak from all the do-gooders who expect everyone to turn on a dime and excise the CWC from reality. In days past, family would have taken care of these, but in our hyper-individualist society, there's only the barely-existent 'safety net' of prison. Barb already burned most bridges she could've ever made in life years ago, now there's nothing but the state. Especially sad because chris was fixing himself, getting better. I guess his sex drive surged, once he started feeling like a productive adult for the first time. (ew.)
Our society only really has prison for these people, these days. Sure there are group homes and living systems, but all my exp. points to those being temporary for people like chris. He'll avoid anything that tells him 'no' or tries to make him healthy. He'll disappear into the ether and it all begins anew.
