Yeah, this is also a huge question mark. It sounds like she was "planning" to visit Ruckersville or meet him at Everfree or something. Lot's of questions still left to be answered.

Then it comes to what evidence can they get that shows Chris did it - So virginia is a single party state for recorded phone calls, so those being admitted as evidence would depend on where the call originated from as to its admissibility.

Then we have Chris, any half ass attorney will argue he is not fit for interview or trial and the state will have to consider what are the chances of getting a prosecution, and I doubt they will go to bat on it unless the fucker is interviewed and admits it.

The fact he is not being held suggests there is a lack of evidence at this time.

I am only guessing but my gut tells me this wont go the distance on a rape charge and Barb will taken in by the state the house sold and Chris will continue to live a fucked up life.

Yep.

I've been saying from the beginning that Barb wouldn't cooperate with police even if she was literally and unironically raped because she doesn't want to lose him. The codependency is too toxic.

There's also still the possibility that it was consensual. And not a "Barb wasn't competent enough to say no" consensual, I mean that she 100% wanted the dick.

Holy christ. Still reeling from when I found out last night. Been following Chris from the very beginning, interest dropped off in more recent years because there have been so many more cows to follow, but I'd still check back occasionally. Horrifying where we've ended up. What a hell of a ride! A thought I hope never crossed Barb's mind.
