Is it unreasonable for people to think trolls might have guided Chris towards this in some way? Chris' entire life has been strangers convincing him to do more and more fucked up shit. Chris even said in the texts that he was "taking the suggestions" or whatever. Maybe he was talking about advice from the book he purchased or maybe he was talking about advice trolls gave him? I have no clue.

I could see a troll finding out he was fucking Barb and they thought it would be funny to give him sex tips or tell him about that sex book. I could see Chris complaining to some troll about wanting to find that boyfriend free girl and they ask "What about Barb?" as a joke and then that idea plants itself in Chris' brain and he takes it from there. I could see this being the natural result of Barb letting her relationship with Chris get too "touchy-feely" over the past few years. I could see Barb wanting some dick and she intentionally started grooming Chris for this. I could see some troll orchestrating all of this from the beginning. I could believe this was entirely Chris' doing after reading some incest hentai. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

I don't think people speculating about troll's possible involvement are necessarilly trying to remove all culpability from Chris.

This is like something out of a psychological thriller novel. I can only imagine what was running through your head as you pieced this all together in your mind.

Putting aside the fact that he basically just threw his entire life away, it almost seems intentionally designed in a way to mentally torment you for even daring to help such a hopeless person.

I wonder if you were actually proud of this poor little autist, so close to seeing him have the best of days, helping him to the point where he became almost more than just a sideshow. Only for him to callously throw it all away for such base reasons. I hope this has taught you a valuable lesson about helping people who can't help themselves. In your effort to help him after he had been so harmed by the internet at large, you set yourself up for karmic retribution.

This is probably the end for Chris, but he went out doing something so shocking that in a twisted way the egg is pretty much on all of our faces, all without a shred of self awareness. I feel thoroughly trolled.
