Thing is, I can see why you wouldn’t put two and two together at first. If Chris was going to get a girlfriend, a disabled woman in her 50s sounds relatively plausible. Maybe she’s after his tugboat, maybe he dialled the crazy shit back. Unlike the other gal-pals, this sounds like the sort of person a white-trash schlub could get.

The clues thing, I think, comes from his worldview. Due to a combination of autism and the cathode babysitter, he thinks like a cartoon. He is the protagonist and therefore what he wants is right. He probably figured it was going to be like incest porn, where it’s presented as sexy and the horror is ignored.

I actually think you could argue that he doesn’t know right from wrong. He knows what society sees as wrong, but he thinks society itself is wrong for defying his love quest, banning him from places he wants to go and changing his cartoons. And as a consequence of this belief, getting caught and even getting punished doesn’t help. He is the protagonist, the world will come round to his way of thinking or his enemies will be destroyed by the power of goodness.

I'm convinced that Chris is "convinced" to some degree that it's someone else in Barb's body at least some of the time. I think Chris convinced himself of this as a way of inventing an excuse to do what he did. It's also possible that the tranny freak convinced him or agreed with him that someone else is in his mother's body as a way of encouraging the inevitable or what was already happening. Make no mistake, this shit was inevitable if it wasn't already happening for years. Going to be honest, the one thing that bothers me is that book/instruction manual. Chris claimed it came from Amazon and him ordering it to prep for this it's some of the darkest premeditated shit ever.

That book looks like the kind of shit a therapist "assigns" you or something. It doesn't even look like something that would draw Chris's attention as opposed to one of the similar yet less clinical ones that are out there. It just doesn't look like something Chris would choose on his own and something about it is bothering me.

I went and found the contents page of the book and considering "paying for sex" is one of the topics as well as how to flirt it's concerning that it ended up Chris's hands.

But by far the most hilarious part of the book is that the memoriam page is dedicated to a Barbara.

Yeah crooks can absolutely be dumb as bricks but chris is a weird case where he's not entirely dumb and has a warped as hell sense of morality.
