I don’t have a record, but can explain the general concept.
Jail is for shorter term stints, usually less than a year. It’s basically a bigger holding facility on your way to prison for those on longer sentences.
There are different types of jails / prisons out there with some different security levels and functions. For the average person a prison is going to be better living overall—it’s typically a bigger system with more amenities and more loopholes to exploit.
Chris has not yet been convicted. He is in pre-trial detention. This is neither jail (short term sentence) or prison (longer term sentence). He may be held at the county jail or in a separate pre-trial facility.
He will remain in pre-trial (assuming he doesn't make bail) until the disposition of his case.
He will most certainly be charged with other relevent offenses. Multiple counts of forcible rape, elder abuse, things like that. He most certainly caused physical injury to his mother (scuse me while I cry a little) indicating inability to resist.
He will most likely plead out. Neither side want him to go to trial for this.
He will not be found NGFRI. He will not be found incompetent.
He most certainly spilled his guts to everyone who'd listen. I hope one of them was his PD.
There are varying levels of "prison". He will be placed where he's least likely to be victimized by other inmates.
He will be a sex offender for the rest of his life. He's highly likely to re-offend if released.
He's going to spend many years in incarceration.
Stop feeling sorry for this piece of shit. Stop making up stories about his trial and what his life in prison will be like based on what you learned from TV.
Feel sorry for his victim. Maybe she's a piece of shit too, but she's still a ffrail 80 year old woman who was repeatedly and forcibly raped.
I'll personally rate myself MATI.
You're welcome.
edit: i suck at typing when I'm mad.
