Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Bro, it's a document hosted from a random Google Drive and when you click the link to the dude's MIT page it's not mentioned or linked under his publications. The text is in Hebrew, but for some reason the tables are all in English, and even then if it's taken at face value, we're talking about like 80 people in a country of ten million were virtually everyone was fully vaccinated.

Are... are you retarded?
It is likely from the Israel covid research data posted on one of their government websites. People have posted a link to the site before. I don't have one on hand, but google auto translates the tables readily.

Even if the numbers are low, a doubling of the risk of pediatric heart attack is still a signal worth investigating. Often shots are pulled for causing under 50 adverse risks in a population where the background rate is one or two. The covid vax is the only one where they've been so dismissive, and that's likely caused because people expect and want to be the one to deliver an easy answer.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that this isn't to be, but the real question is how long they can keep up the denial.

To put it into perspective, my state probably has a population close to Israel and no teenagers have died of covid during the whole pandemic. Giving an extra twenty of them heart attacks would obviously be a lot of needless harm for no gain. Even though the numbers are small, harming 20 people to save 0 lives doesn't math.

It would be better to offer therapeutics to the handful of children who get seriously ill than risk the lives of millions who will be fine.

I don't disagree there's probably not much point in anyone under 20 who's healthy getting the shot, but someone posting those numbers and acting like chicken little is no different than someone looking at child hospitalizations in Florida going from 20 to 40 as a result of Covid and saying "Child Hospitalizations DOUBLED in Florida! We need masks in schools!" and it's very funny.

The vaccine effectiveness rate of 85/95% (I forget) being touted as a result of Pfizer's recently released six month follow-up figures is a relative effectiveness rate rather than absolute. It's the difference between something like a quarter of a percent and a half a percent in absolute terms. What I'm saying is that you're right - because if they can pitch their treatment to the world based on a (nearly) doubled protection then certainly it can be criticised on a doubled risk of adverse effect.

And politicians wonder why some people don't trust them.

Okay.

Someone should pay him a visit when the next regular influenza pandemic rolls around. Just keep following him asking the asshole to put on a mask.

Anyways, this just goes to show how liberals have a very weird view on the use of deadly force. I would love to explore his reasoning but I suspect he will just claim humor to avoid answering.

I've noticed over time most of the reports of bad side effects occuring happen under Pfizer, J&J et al, yet I almost never see reports for Moderna. Is this one going to be a long game, did they pay off people better to shut up, or is it the only one to do its job correctly?

If this situation has an expiration date, how long do you think one should wait through it? I found out that I can take the shot even tomorrow but now I'm again getting scared of getting it. This kind of decision has a very high-cost buyers remorse. I don't trust either side of the situation (pro and anti-COVID shot), purely because there's just too much info noise to bear but I'd like to hear thoughts from kiwis.
My personal philosophy is that I'll wait forever. If this never gets any better I'm still not getting that shot. I'll quit my job, I'll move to rural bumfuckistan, I'll stop going to movie theatres, whatever. The ability to freely choose what goes into my body is the most important of civil rights to me and is the hill I will absolutely die on, literally if need be. Not that I really think it'll come to that.

If you're only worried about medical dangers of the vaccine and not holding out on principle like me, I'd say you'll probably have a pretty solid grasp of the side effects 5 years or so down the line. tbh I'm even a little hesitant to say that because the politicization of this means all the science coming out is compromised in one way or another and it's really hard to predict how all of this will progress as time goes on. But I think giving it a few years will at least give you more data and the ability to make a better-informed decision.

If I had to speculate, I'd say it's one of the former two. Moderna has never successfully brought a product to market. All of their trial products have been rejected due to horrible side-effects.

ACLJ is oddly mixed message about wuflu crap today.
Mandates are bad except when they force masks in schools because DeSantis shouldn't withhold funds because something something.

"The science has changed" in that masks can block this respiratory infection when they haven't been able to block any other, but "the science is settled" in that masks, mRNA vaccines, and lockdowns are the only ways to treat COVID-19. Where have I seen that one before? Pretty much everywhere?

I think some of it is sunk cost fallacy.

If they thought that the coof was a sham, then they would realize that they just lost a year of their lives (and more), so they have to double down.

The only chance that they have now is if Sain Fauci says that COVID was bad before, but it's less deadly now, which he will never do because he and the CDC will never give up their emergency powers voluntarily and have outright said that they are going to make the courts stop them.
Once power is taken it's rarely given back. The Tptb will nevver willingly give it back. I agree people are really invested in this because of everything they have lost. To admit they have been lied to on a scale this massive is beyond most peoples capacity. I still run into people that haven't left their house except for rare occasions because they believe the world is ending. There needs to be more people willing to stand up and just say no

no, they're specifically spazzing about the idea that blocking a local district from forcing masks (but allowing them on kids per parents' choice is okay) is somehow wrong
they're also buying the bullshit about the streets of Florida filled with corpses

Well, one of my friends got the moderna and the first shot left him debilitatingly sick for a week. The second he was only sick like that for three days, but even he admits it was multiple times worse than his covid case.

Also, speaking of people I know who had covid, one friend's grandmother did. She's around 90. He's been trying to force me into getting the shot by claiming her health started to decline after covid, so it's long covid and it's covid's fault she's dying! Come to find out she has stage four bone cancer.

Stage four bone cancer is now a long covid symptom. Or else someone with bone cancer and advanced age pulled through covid. Still pretty sad for the family. The bone cancer is an awful way to go...

Technically it's more than six months since her covid, but they will probably term it a covid death when the cancer finally takes her.

I have some white pill for you.
So I went for a check-up today, and before I was a bit worried that they will try to push vaccine on me. I went for a check-up mostly because I wanted to check my Vit D levels and do the antibodies test (not that I believe that antibody test is super valid, but if I have antibody against any coronavirus, according to some research I am also a bit protected against corona).

Surprise, surprise... I got no question whatsoever if I was vaccinated, and nobody was pushing the vaccine on me. I like this medical center already :)

My witch of a governor is set to reinstate the mask mandate for my state. We only had 6 weeks of freedom before she opted to undo every bit of progress over the sCarY CasE nuMBerS. If caught without wearing a muzzle indoors, punishment could range from "educational materials" to a $1,000 fine.

I've always hated my governor, but her actions these past two years have shown me just how tyrannical she really is.

How is the recall election going for Witchmer? Cuomo is out and it's not looking good for Gavin Nuisance.

And we don't know what's down the line, there's been speculation of it causing damage to artery walls (I think?) that wouldn't show up for years to come.
A doctor is saying 62% of everyone who took these shots will have heart failure in 2 -3 years.

The video is being taken down everywhere you look.

Food for thought. The bookmark feature is actually pretty handy, guys. You can make your own tags and everything.

Don't know, my governor is Kate Brown in Oregon. Far as I know, there's no recall for her yet.

I want to say that people here will revolt and tell her to fuck off, but given how pozzed this state usually is...
