I know people are going to accuse me of having Trump Enslavement Syndrome but regardless what you thought of him as a person or President, he had a pretty decent foreign policy strategy. Group likes the Taliban only understand violence. Now, with the US gone, you'll have China dealing with the Taliban. The only difference, China doesn't care about morality or anything silly like that. They would kill a hundred thousand Afghans and or Taliban without a second thought if it meant advancing their interests in the region or protecting their own. Why do you think the Taliban aren't raising a bigger stink about the genocide going on with the Uyghur.

Anyways, fuck any attempts to retake Afghanistan. It's over. I barely even had time to get invested.

Just think about this situation.
The Taliban just invaded your city. You're forced to flee the city along with everyone else with nothing but your uniform and gun. Family and friends left at home to fend for themselves. End up throwing yourself at Iran, a country hostile to the US who used to protect you.
It's weirdly poetic in a sick sort of way.
