Taliban offensive of 2021 and collapse of Afghan government.

The "adults" had the better part of a year to prepare for this and apparently just didn't give a shit.

Yeah it's not ALL Biden's fault obviously, but "The Buck Stops Here" applies

Biden isn't personally at fault because he's obviously senile and not in charge of anything.

Idk what difference it would have made if Trump was in the Oval Office, this was fucked up deliberately by people who never wanted to leave Afghanistan. There was a major scoop in the WaPo back in 2019 about how officials were lying their asses off - including to elected government officials - to keep the Forever War going forever.

It was the kinda thing that would've won Pulitzer prizes and forced lots of DC insiders into early retirement or jail if it had come out in the 70's or 80's.

Instead it sank without a trace and nothing happened. Nobody who mattered gave a shit.

One of the good guys quoted in the Afghanistan Papers was Michael Flynn, who noticed the scale of the fraud going on to keep the Afghan adventure running. He, probably not by coincidence, got set up and burned by the deep state early in the Trump era, then legally blackmailed into cooperating with the Mueller investigation / slow motion coup attempt that libs were fapping over until it ended in an embarrassing dud.

The Taliban have their own internal politics, but they're probably not close to being as dishonest and downright evil as the United States government. The real government, not the elected minstrels and maitre d's who tend the front of house and try to give dumbass voters the impression that they have a say in what's going on.

Trump was the one who made the deal to withdrawal from all US-held well-secured military bases with the Taliban last year; he even wanted the shorter deadline of May, rather than the end of August; see my post two pages ago. This is the same guy who withdrew US special forces from Kurdish-held parts of Northern Syria, supposedly 'to send the boys home' (and thus allowed Turkey and its Islamist Syrian rebel proxies to take over large chunks of Kurdish Syria), and yet at the same time had more US troops stationed to Saudi Arabia instead (to sabre rattle with Iran).

Didn't have much of a choice on the Kurd side, Kurds had started skirmishing with the Turks, and the Turks are in NATO (whereas the Kurds aren't).

Boo hoo, Trump torpedoed the forever war.

Yes, even with extended the withdrawal by months, this last minute shitfest where Biden was on vacation when the Taliban took control is what we ended up with. Biden ignored warnings that the situation would collapse and made no effort to prevent this situation. Whataboutism with Trump is meaningless since its impossible to know how'd he react to the situation if he was in office. If he would've kept to his original time tables and have us out in May, if pulling out in May would've prevented this situation at all, how he would've reacted to information that the situation would become dire.
I don't care about middle easterners controlling middle eastern clay, let them fight amongst themselves for it. Whether it be afghanistan, "kurdish" syria, etc.

These expeditions in the ME aren't done for the benefit of the USA, but for the benefit of certain businesses as well as money laundering for our politicians and their fellow grifters.

Biden administration had almost half a year to address this, or just stick to the plans that were originally laid out. Instead they sat on their hands until the issue was forced and now we have a massive shit show.

Oh no he wanted to start leaving during the month of Ramadan where Taliban do jack shit and finish by may the end of Ramadan where Taliban aren't doing shit still. How dare he.

UK left documents with names as well in abandoned embassy...

No, these aren't documents that the Americans forgot to burn on their way out.

These are lists of names that were intentionally given to the Taliban in the interests of sharing intelligence.

"U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that's prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials."

Afghan allies. We actually gave the Taliban a kill list.

Shhhh orange man is dumb and bad. There's absolutely nothing Biden could of done to undo Trump's terrible plans so it's perfectly acceptable that he didn't even try to do anything, condemning thousands. Please don't make people consider that maybe a rude idiot made a better president than a senile pedophile.

The military telling the executive branch what it wants to hear has been going on for many, many administrations.

This is not a defense of the Biden administration. I'm not sure anyone could say things are better now, regardless of how obnoxious and goofy Trump was.

And instead of getting 72 14 year old virgins he's currently getting spit roasted by Hitler demons with barbed 8 feet long cocks.
I always imagined it as an eternal bukkake with 72 fat, sweaty, hairy grunting fellow akbars endlessly ejaculating over their face.

It’s the problem with a totally civilian run military. In order to succeed, generals must become politicians. 150 years ago it was the exact opposite and that’s why the military could function.
