I guess that's what happens when your history includes your country being carved up by Nazis and Bolsheviks for the better part of five years, after all your allies abandoned you. Then, they abandon you again during your last stand, followed by a brutal communist occupation.
It's tough to say what will happen to the US. Maybe the whole system fucking crumbles, and I'm not sure if the people here are strong enough to rebuild. Maybe life gets rough for a while, with grocery store shelves mostly empty, gas rationing, more widespread looting and riots, and more localized conflicts between politically opposing groups and gangs in larger cities.
Or something completely off the wall that no one saw coming. The best thing you can do is prepare and have a plan, because Biden sure as shit doesn't.

It comes back to the crux of the matter, which is that certain areas and walks of life are wildly disparate from one another. You could live very comfortably on $20 an hour (assuming you didn't have any major debts, of course!) in some areas of the United States, but try doing it in LA or NYC and get back to me. Raising the minimum wage sounds great, it polls great, but won't do much to address those problems. Actually addressing them is going to take some movement away from the landscape we've all become accustomed to, and that's gonna be a heck of a thing to ask.
...but Biden's in freefall anyway, so what the heck, we're probably gonna see it in a month or two.

They are there to decry the Democrats but that is a major fraction away from the party and not business as usual. Maher is getting fed up in a subtle way and forcing moderate dems to look at their positions. 'Stop making me Tucker Carlson' is a literal joke he said because Carlson is starting to seem like a Centrist styled news host while blasting the Biden admin and woke BS left and right. You can even look at someone like Quentin Tarantino whos pushed back slightly with 'They don't care about the art they care about messaging' on Maher's show. None of this is good for the ideologues running the DNC as it just chips away at their base. 'Vote blue no matter who' won't cut it after even another year of the Democrats having the House, Executive, and a tie breaking Senate. I don't think I'm being overly optimistic because right now people are saying from the Democrat side they'd vote differently if the election were held today. In 1965 the minimum wage was $1.25 per hour. back then the USA was still on a gold/silver standard and you could redeem your paper money in silver/gold at the federal reserve.
5 Silver Quarters is about 1 ounce of silver. silver trades at 24 dollars per ounce today. so 1.25 per hour in 64 is like 24 per hour today.
