Thread tourist here, sorry. I'm surprised to see May there, feels pretty bad - May is NyxFears, a youtuber who reviews horror movies. I started watching Nyx when he was a funny goth, but then he trooned out. He has very recently removed all his older pre-troon videos, which is a damn shame because they were very good. He's dating another goth MTF and has already had facial feminisation surgery, which he crowdfunded. Somehow his videos are still pretty good, but he is falling deeper and deeper into the troon subculture now.
Oh dear, then you're not going to like this part.
May/Nyx said his channel exploded in popularity after coming out as trans, which caused a lot of new people to watch his older videos prior to coming out. And "that scrutiny became kind of overwhelming", so he made the very easy decision to delete them all. Not privated. Deleted.
When elaborating on
why he he found the decision so easy to make, he had this to say:
ML: I don't care about anything that I've ever made in my--just, generally--in my life. I am the kind of person where I treat art as kind of like... kind of like a bowel movement. I know that's crude! I'm sorry that's crude, but it's true! Art is kind of a bowel movement, so you just kind of grab something that you're feeling, you know, you push it out there, and then you're like 'all right, see ya later, bud'. And you let it flush away.
Yet, of the four interviewees in the video, May was the only one who said their work had been altered
at a fundamental level by coming out as trans.
One more thing I'd like to point out is the way May describes her past self as:
the brave soul that once existed in my body
...which reminded me a lot of
Greg Dean of Real Life Comics, another troonout who was already internet-famous prior to trooning.
They both describe their past self as a brave soul that existed in their body (this was the subject of an entire coming-out arc in Greg's comic). And they both say they were aware of being trans from the age of 7 or 8. They both used a girls' name for multiple decades as a screen name before making it their official name.
And they both fucking chose the name 'May' (spelt differently, but pronounced the same). I just thought that was a spooky coincidence.
You pretty much got it.
Both him and Longbone will show up pretty regularly on EFAP, but the few times they did it together was on EFAP Gamings (in which theres almost 10 ppl at the same Discord call) and they don't seem to interact. Outside of that, despite having some pretty retarded political opinions, he doesnt seem to get into slapfights with anyone else on the main panel, even Rags. This is not that surprising tho, cuz Jay has always been very milquetoast and doesn't have many hot takes when he's on the panel.
His original schtick was that he hadn't seem a lot of movies, so he was mostly in the dark about everything EFAP said was good, like LotR. Nowadays he's internet fighting Hassan, so thats what they talk about when hes on.
Oh and speaking of EFAP, does anyone know the story behind Nathaniel's Fringy plush with a genderfluid pride badge?
Maybe it's just some random pride merch thrown in the background to say "I'm genderfluid, y'all" (there is also a TARDIS keychain with the same colour scheme), but I'm not quite sure if it means something else.
