They haven't sold worth while products for practically twenty-fucking-years now, why are people still not aware of this? Get with the times, come on.

Retro hardware is so much better built and easier to repair or fix than modern. My Atari STE is 30+ years old and other than now replaced leaky capacitors in the power supply (which can be replaced by anyone with a soldering iron and wire clippers and ability to read a manual) is still rattling on.

The fact that firmware is needed on fucking keyboards and mice is an indictment. Some things don't need changing because they work just fine. PS/2 and USB ports are examples of these. Also the 3.5mm audio jack, Apple.

Mine was fine until one key went out. Just kinda stopped working. Dismantling it didn't help at all, it's just a plastic membrane sheet inside that looks like it got slightly folded, somehow. So then I bought a K400 Plus:



and it's noticeably cheaper all around. Much much flimsier, the touchpad isn't as pleasant, the arrow keys now have Downs Syndrome, and the on/off switch is in a different place that's harder to reach while holding it. It's just overall worse and stupid.

I have a cheapo Logitech wireless keyboard & mouse which are made of filmsy, pure chinesium, plastic. The letters on the keys are not even laser printed, they're like made of paint or something, because not even right after two weeks of regular usage some letters are already worn off.

However, I still rock on a PS/2 Compaq Presario keyboard. It's rubber domed, but it doesn't feel like crap. It has a huge ass steel plate inside which makes the typing experience almost like a mechanical keyboard, but less noisy.

Gotta disagree there. The sticks and triggers are a pain in the arse to use but the D-PAD is a really nice microswitched deal and they're the only company that still makes wired controllers.

RGB has one valid use and that's under clear bumper caps on classic pinball machines. Everywhere else it is stupid and puerile.

When my RTX 3080 arrived it had the RGB set to be on Rainbow Wave as standard. Ugh. It was like a fucking Pride parade leaking out my case. I had to download EVGA's Precision just to turn it off. Seriously, why would anyone want it? It's uglier than the south end of a northbound feminist.

Cherry do a few compact keyboards with touchpads. I can't imagine they have any problems with USB extension cables.
