This. My grandfather has struggled to gain weight for years, eating fatty foods, sweets, red meat, bbq, mexican food, fast food you name it. He just can't keep it on despite the fact that he's in relatively great health for a dude of 80+ years.
At first I interpreted it as "we had more money to buy fast food" that contributed to how overweight they both were. As far as I can remember, the Chandlers hadn't cooked actual meals in years and subsisted on a diet entirely composed of TV dinners and fast food. I'm guessing the meal replacement shakes were intended to deal with her inability to deal with their normal diet anymore. Chris obviously has gained quite a bit of weight since Bob's passing, so I wouldn't think it's the inability to buy food.
BTW, @Merryweatherey you said you had to redo the podcast after the first because it was boring and you didn't use correct pronouns. Care to elaborate on this? It seems like this one was really well put together and flowed quite nicely. Almost no dead air and avoided the notorious tendency of Chris to ramble senselessly for ages. What made the previous interview so boring, and do you think doing a second interview contributed to how smoothly it went?
