Barb is about to get financially raped in court and Chris is seen in TRU buying toys and Pokemon cards. Sounds about typical Chandler level of responsibility (there lack of).

The thing is I wonder how much of that is out of ignorance on OPL's part, I mean Chris has a tenious grasp of money and Barb doesn't tell him everything so he might not be as informed as he thinks he is - not to mention Chris has a problem conceptualising things at the best of times so to him a sum of money significantly larger than his tugboat (even as little as two or three times it's size) is unimaginable to him so a sum of $80,000 - $100,000 may as well be the whole GDP of the US.

Have they tried to "Bolieve" that their debt will be paid off instantly? Maybe Barb and Chris too can get a small loan of a million dollars. Just Bolieve In Bo. lol

Seriously, at this point, I wouldn't be surprise if they got off easy again.

Even if they get btfo by the court what are the collections agents going to seize exactly? They live in a house full of decaying rotten garbage and cat shit, Chris's PS4 is probably the most valuable thing in the house.

Jokes on them, she'll no doubt set up a payment plan with no intention of following, or have Chris sign something over as collateral. Hell, she's dying, not going to be her problem.

Or another continuance, which seems to be the Chandler Way.
Can Barb do that with collection agents? Sign over collateral? Would that hurt Chris's credit or make him vulnerable to a lawsuit?

Depends on whether Barb actually has some money. We don't really know whether they're scofflaws or actually broke.

If so, continuance continuance continuance, settlement deal, Barb pays minimum for a while, then breaks deal, stalls for time some more, etc. etc. Or just blows it off entirely and waits for the sheriff to show up and try to seize the rotting pile of worthless garbage that is a metaphor for Barb herself.
Will that stalling tactic actually work?

The hoard at 14bc isn't just garbage. Those beagles are effectively monitoring a loot pile and I have aerial photos proving this

Bob left them a nice lump sum so I guess at that point the house was paid off. He was clearly trying to plan for Chris' future so likely would've paid off the house first.
I recall hearing that Chris and Barb blew all of Bob's inheritance money on Rob Bell, and the situation got worse when Barb demanded that 14BC be renovated instead of being demolished and sold off like the insurance company suggested.

I think most of the debt is from credit cards/banks. The legal stuff was paid by bobs inheritance as far as I know.

I ment the legal stuff because of the dept itself, like todays court proceedings. At least in my country you have to pay the court itself and the coast for the lawyers of both sides afterwards if you are the party that lost.

Once she's court ordered to pay back or make an attempt to settle her debt I think the possibility of seeing Barb in a YouTube video is likely. At the very least we'll get an insufferably whiny Chris begging for money and telling us how serious it is.

Letting credit card debt get to the point where you're sued is an achievement. You basically have to 1) have an enormous amount of debt and 2) ignore every single letter and call for MONTHS.

The fact that Barb has, what, three of these now? Wow.

Barb literally charges shit until the card is declined, then moves onto the next and ignores everything after.
That's one way to live. Fuck the banks, live lavish until the debt collectors come knocking. Then move and start anew. When the debts catch back up, move again. It's a volatile and dangerous way to live, but she's old and dying, so why should she give a shit. Shit, she could buy a cheap house in Hawai‘i and enjoy her retirement there. Probably die before the debt collectors catch back up.

My prediction: 1 continuance maximum, and then the fines will be sent to collection and never fully paid off before barb's death. I genuinely hope that it doesn't come down all on Chris in the end, and while I have no sympathy for fatty, placing the burden of all of Barb's financial mistakes on him isn't justice.

2 1/2 hrs after the hearing, can somebody check if the records are updated?

EDIT: Old information see this post for new stuff

No records updated yet. See below

Snorlax is getting the chair

The cozy cushion that extreme poverty provides against pursuers maybe.

The two ends of the wealth spectrum are the best to be in when someone comes to take a bite out of your ass.

Being super rich generally means you can either defend yourself well or at least absorb the loss. Being super poor means most people looking for reparations will realize they are pursuing a rock and not proceed further.

When you are somewhere in between is really the time you're up to take losses.
