At least 18 are dead after a series of explosions and shootings. There have been at least 4 separate, but coordinated incidents.

Oh my God, can you even imagine what those people went through?? Imagine being in that theatre, forced to watch as your fellow audience members are executed one by one and knowing that you're next. Maybe you were even unfortunate enough to lose a friend or family member before the police rescued you. This is the stuff of nightmares.

I'm just praying that some good comes out of this. Maybe some new policies will be put in place. I can't imagine 150+ people being slaughtered won't result in some kind of social reform.

Call me a pessimist, but I'm afraid that nothing good will come out of this policy-wise. But the xenophobia will be a lot worse.

I assume that there will be fear of copycat attacks as well.

I was on the other side of the country, but I was at a party of my cousin's who'd just passed her Doctorate thesis (with jury congratulations) the same day. And now that day is ruined for her. Whoop Whoop.

The only thing that made me more furious than the Charlie Hebdo attack before was the tumblrina who called the newspaper "racist shitheads" based on a few covers who were actually denouncing racist and racists people.
