While looking at these photos may I recommend some music to play in the background?

Because no post apocalyptic wasteland riddled with death and infection should go without a piece from 28 days later

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
Two tards that are stupid will dither,
And State Farm's patience exhaust.

Seriously, you are always one of my favorite posters, and then there are the times when I feel like I should put a statue of you on my dashboard. Wonder if Chris is taking Lego minifig commissions yet.

I'm just waiting for the remainder of the hoard to merge with the surrounding flora, thus giving birth to a real life Swamp Thing.

You are cool and just to derail the thread for a second, Bernie Wrightson was admitted to the hospital on Monday after suffering a series of small strokes. They acted immediately and got him to the ER and his treatment went really well. He is alert and recognizes people and is joking with his nurses, so good news there. So if you have a second think a kind thought for Bernie, he and Len Wein both are dealing with some serious health issues right now. And again, sorry for the threadjack, but the Swamp Thing reference was a nice segue. You guys can move this to the OT board if you need to.

Nah, I've got nothing on Carlos "Way-Past-Cool" Chandler.

God bless Mr. Wrighton and Mr. Wein. Wrighton and John Totleben are some of my absolute favorite comic book artists. I hope they'll get to grace this world with their being a bit longer. Thank you for the post.

I have the very good fortune to know both Len and Bernie as long time friends, there are many, many laughs along the way, and Len is managing his health very well these days. Early news on Bernie is good, but there may be some surgery in the future, but the fact that he was so responsive yesterday was an excellent sign for a full recovery. Len, Bernie and their wives are such lovely and special people in my life. I won $400 on an Iron Man video slot in Vegas when we were there for comic con and so I took Len and his peeps out for dinner and let Tony Stark pay for it -- he said he loved that best of all. He's a darling. I've met John Totleben but don't know him very well, but his work is amazing, and he works really well with Alan Moore who I was once very drunk with in San Diego. I'll PM you with any updates on Bernie, if you'd like.

Christ thats some horrible news about Bernie! I didn't even know Len was sick either, is that public knowledge or would he appreciate to keep the details a private matter? Either way, I hope they get back to better form. They are heroes for creating one of te best DC Characters, as far as I'm concerned. I'd like you to PM me with any updates on Bernie too, if you don't mind.

I'd love to know the craic with getting drunk with God in San Diego. Though I guess this isn;t the best place to discuss that. I take full responsibility for the de-rail, I just get excited when Swamp Thing is mentioned anywhere. That ivy vine in the greenhouse I think, that really is soemthing he would be up to

A Nobel prize or a financial empire awaits somewhere in a darkened room, in a dirty derelict building somewhere in Ruckersville. It was the flowering of an ambition born 15 years ago - 15 years stress come to this. As I write this, tiles are cracking, smeared with windblown dirt and animal tracks. Thick tree roots are pushing up through the asphalt. The Branchland settles itself, beginning to erase all trace of us...

From the flame-singed pages of a journal, dated July 2010:

Fridays After Five, a social event, free of admission. A bit of a step up for me, socially. I was seated near a very pleasant young woman. I would gaze at her in moments when she was distracted. The size of her boobies. The way she and her friends danced to the music. Save that... in her voice and her walk, there was a world of grace and sophistication that I knew I was forever barred from. She would not answer me at first. I threw an Attraction Rock at her again. Event goers glanced curiously in my direction. I stammered, I was not certain what I should say. She laughed, though, and seemed charmed. She asked me to call her over da telephone the next day. At two AM I uploaded a video addressed to her. She never responded. I will never forget this, and I will never forgive, I swear it. This is the last time.

Never again.

So someone catch me up; Chris thinks the house is going to be rebuilt and is in fact banking on it? In other words, it was basically promised?

as with everything, he has set himself up for failure and disappointment

Thx for your effort skyrider, we love you.

Barb's mental and physical health are really really bad.
Maybe she only wants to die in her old house with her
garbage. I would be very surprised if she survives the
next winter.
Never underestimate the ability of old white trash to keep going. The mean old lady is a trope for a reason.
