I'm reminded of a plastic playhouse for kids. Only big enough for an adult and with more windows added on it.

Yeah, I actually assumed it was a workshed at first. That's...just not what I think a greenhouse should look like. I'm still confused about it.

Well greenhouse vs workshed doesn't have to be a binary choice. It looks like some sort of pre-fab structure you can order for your yard. Some people might like the windows because it makes it a more pleasant place to piddle with tools in. Some people might use the windows for light so they can keep plants in there when they are off-season/not ready for outdoors. You can call it what ever you want.

That reminds me of something. Chris often described one of the rooms in the house as a "music room". I have never heard that term before, and I know a few piano teachers who teach out of their home and have a room that fits that description well. Is "music room" a thing I am unaware of?

It's a thing, particularly with (as you said) music teachers and music enthusiasts and/or snobs. Judging by the pictures of Bob's large collection of records, it seems fair to say that that room fits the bill.

Nah.

The music room is the one room thats blocked off in the 2nd more recent house tour. Likewise, the same room that Chris is in during the "HEY COLE WHY DIDNT YOU INVITE ME AND MY MOM TO YOUR WEDDING?" vid.

Fake mustaches at gatherings are a trendy thing (or at least, they were for about 5 minutes), but mostly at weddings, and they are usually the kind you hold up on a stick, like this:

Yeah, I'm also pretty sure it's a thing. The music room is directly underneath Chris's room in the front corner of the house:

This photo of Bob is described as being in the family room on the CWCki, but judging by the direction of the stairs in the background, I think it is actually the music room (although those are obviously books, not records).

To go slightly more off-topic, that got me thinking about where Bob might have stored all his LPs. 15-20k records is a lot, but I think it could have all fit in the music room (or maybe in the greenhouse, which is where they may have been, judging by the Emily date transcript). If my rough estimate is correct, you can squeeze about 100 records in 12 inches of linear shelf space. So if Bob had a couple 10- to 12-foot-long walls covered in shelves (let's say he could fit 8 rows on each wall), that's about 8000-9600 records on each wall (pretend that there were no windows), and then maybe a couple more records stashed somewhere else.
 
Music room = redneck bumpkin from Virginia speak for 'Conservatory.' Bob probably did have a musical instrument on hand to qualify it as an actual conservatory and not just a room that held his musical recordings he acquired in life though I'd bet, but try and get Chris with his lisp to say conservatory instead of music room in the 80's clearly and you'd fold pretty quick on the point as well.

Is it just me, or does it look like there are actual live, healthy, plants in there? (Maybe it's a reflection?) They look like impatiens.

I can't imagine Chris or Barb actually using the greenhouse for its intended purpose.

I've heard from a reliable source, that Chris and Barb rented a storage facility where they're storing stuff salvaged from the horde. Could this pile of crap have been set aside for this reason? I can't think of any other reasonable explanation. The dumpster isn't anywhere near being full. Why isn't this crap in there with the rest of the garbage?

I seem to remember Chris saying something about the house being repaired by September, and the insurance company only being willing to pay for their temporary accommodations until then. Does anyone else think it's unlikely that, based on the pictures, 14 Branchland Court will be inhabitable in (give or take a bit) two months? As another poster pointed out, it looks like nothing has been done.

Some of that crap is in garbage bags, I'm guessing it got forgotten or it can't be mixed with the construction debris. It's also pretty water-logged and more or less rotten.

I loved "Grey Gardens", which was about a couple of crazy, yet oddly endearing women who lived in a filthy, derelict old mansion. The difference here is that the two women, Big Edie and Little Edie, were actually *likeable*. The same cannot be said for Chris and Barb. Both of them have caustic personalities, and I just cannot see an audience connecting with them.

I liked Grey Gardens, too--both the docu and the film. It's interesting that you mention it, because I had the feeling in both versions that Big Edie was also hoarding her daughter to keep her from ever leaving her. There were moments when it seemed that Big Edie had deliberately sabotaged or undermined some of Little Edie's opportunities. Kinda like Barb trying to keep Chris permanently childlike and reliant on her, not calling him out on any of his behaviors unless it made him more difficult for her, personally, to deal with him...or maybe I'm reading too much into this.
