Facebook 2014-June-08 - Of course you know, this means war

Every couple of days, somebody on the forums start griping, bitching and moaning about what an awful person Chris is, since he's on the :tugboat:

"Why doesn't that lazy slob just get a job?" They complain...

Well THIS is why. This thread is a pretty good explanation of why CWC is on disability. He's too autistic, as well as too stupid, to ever hold a job for more than a week or two, before his spergyness would collapse his employment in a spectacular way.
(Poor old Bob was pretty smart and probably realized this, while Chris was still in high school. Which is why he didn't wait very long before applying for Chris's :tugboat: ticket...)

He gets FIVE notices from eBay, pretty much spelling out what he is doing wrong, and why his listing got deleted, and Chris still doesn't understand that perhaps it's the Paypal address that's the problem...

Wow!

This is why he's on disability ladies and gentlemen...

Sure Chris is lazy. No argument there. And he's in too poor physical shape for most manual labor. But the biggest reason he doesn't have a job, isn't because of the aforementioned flaws. It's because he's too dumb and 'tistic for the job market.

Chris is literally too dumb to sell stuff on eBay, What kind of job would you imagine that he could have, for more than a few weeks?

...I heard there was a job opening down at the pet shop...as some newspaper! :alog:

But in all seriousness, I don't know if there are many jobs he could even be hired at, knowing how most employers are networking nowadays. Chris already has a criminal record, and has let everyone know several embarrassing personal details about himself without provocation. And whole websites are dedicated to archiving and discussing his every pratfall. Never mind that Chris is too prideful not to refer to himself as "Christian Weston Chandler, the original creator of Sonichu the Electric Hedgehog Pokémon." Chris has dug himself too deep to even get a job at this point. If I were an employer, I wouldn't risk hiring a guy who prattles on about "dang dirty trolls" to my clients and employees. Hypothetically speaking I would probably think that guy might snap and try assaulting or stalking a customer who he sees as a "dang dirty troll" simply because he took out his phone to text someone else. That or he would frighten customers away with his creepy behavior...

He doesn't have a job because he's lazy and self-entitled. Not because he's stupid.
I had an autistic roommate who was affected worse than Chris. He was on SSDI too yet still managed to work part-time at McDonalds mopping floors and Washing dishes. Every dollar he made still went straight to Sony and Papa-Johns, but the $1200 a month SSDI plus $1k or so from McDonalds was enough for him to live comfortably. I see plenty of other tards bagging groceries, washing cars, doing yard work, etc...
Chris is capable of any of these jobs. He just thinks they're beneath him.

Well, I see it's coming around full circle. Chris stops being noticed, only for him to reemerge with this new stuff.

No, actually this is specifically Chris just being a shithead. Chris actually is a good ebay seller, overall. He's just being pissy right now, about personal issues.

No felonies, Chris is fine, criminal-record-wise. And Chris really isn't in too deep, you way overestimate how much employers care about minimum wage employees. Sorting glass, etc.

Chris around glass just sounds like a bad idea to me. Now you mention personal issues. Now do you mean something new/we haven't heard of or just the Ebay not working out for him in general?

Fair enough, when you have such low expectations of someone, it's sometimes so much easier to boost other people up solely on the grounds that they aren't that someone.

I'm curious, what is it about Chris that makes home a good eBay seller? His Sale/No Sale ratio looks decent, but what about the try hards who would bid on his items and never pay just to screw with him?

I don't believe that Chris is "too dumb and too autistic" for the work place, there are a lot of people living with far worse handicaps then Chris who lead productive fulfilling lives.

And the last thing Chris needs is another White Knight to ass-pat him and tell that everything isn't his fault.

He needs tuff love and he needs it now because Barbs time is quickly running out and Chris need to be prepared for a life without a Mommy.

When you write "good eBay seller overall" do you mean compared to your average eBay user, or compared to the Nigerian gentleman who recently contacted me regarding a 2013 MacBook Air, that he wanted to sell me for a 400$ Western Union money transfer?

Also: Which of his eBay wheelings and dealings are you specifically thinking about? The 20$ Porn VHS tapes? The fake Stradivarius? The soaked model airplanes with the 10$ price sticker still on it, that he tried to sell for 20$ perchance?

Nah, I'm mostly yanking your chain... My hat off to you sir!

Trying to defend Chris as mediocre in any capacity, is a tougher PR challenge than getting new members for the Israeli branch of "International Adolph Hitler Friendship and Appreciation Society"...

His lack of any work experience the last decade would be a real challenge.

As would his "Tom Boyish" schizophrenia-chic appearance...

Any job halfassed enough to hire Chris, could easily get an illegal immigrant for half the pay.

Let's assume that he cleans up his appearance though, and puts down some fake references that don't get checked, or are really phone numbers for a friend...

It wouldn't be IMPOSSIBLE for him to get a job. But it'd be hard. And the real challenge of course would be keeping it for longer than a few weeks.

Even at a fast food place (Burger King, no?) he only lasted a couple of days before getting fired for freaking out a kid.

I really can't imagine any job he could keep, due to his lack of mental acuity, bad attitude, general clumsiness, and especially his poor socializing skills and awful conditioning...

Fast Food place? Would be fired for going mental on a customer or inappropriate behavior: "Wouldahh.. Would you-ehm-ah-like an-nyeah-ehm boyfriend with that eh-ma'am?"

Sorting glass? Fired for accidentally cutting himself or a coworker.

Light cleaning/sweeping? Would accidentally knock over bottle of lye with his broom on the third day and injure customer. Then call on sick the 2nd week with a sprained back and never show up again.

Dish washing? Fired after two days for causing an electrical malfunction in the dishwasher, thereby burning down a part of the kitchen. Also: Rest of staff threatened with quitting because of him never shutting up about his gal pals in high school and trolls.

I just don't see it...

Exactly, his greatest disability isn't autism but his shitty spoiled attitude. It's constantly getting him in trouble with store managers and cops, keeps him from even the remote possibility of a relationship, and from ever having a job. The OP is full of examples of this.

Only Chris could turn something that might usually garner him some sympathy into an excuse for acting boorish.

Initially I was actually kind of excited for him. I thought he might actually listen to the suggestions people were giving him about taking commissions and might be able to afford to buy his own Legos, instead of just begging for them.

Then I remembered it was Chris.

Also, is it just me, or is this drawing slightly less terrible than his usual Sonichu "art" style? It seems like he's taken a bit more care over it than his comic pages, which is...progress, I guess?

I see ween trolls are still trying to have an impact by flagging everything Chris puts on the internet just like they did with his flipnotes and slightly hate filled videos

I think it might be a bit more complicated. While Chris may be capable of these jobs on paper, in his gut he worries that he is not. In his only venture into the working world, he was quickly fired. This was an embarrassment to him; he has always been reticent to discuss this incident. I think an explanation he gave Julie is an accurate reflection of his current feelings: if he got a job now, he would no longer be eligible for Social Security, and if he got fired, he would be up the creek. As he likes to say, Bob had to work hard and "pull some strings" to get him on disability, and he worries that he would not have the competence to get back on it again. This, I think, is the main reason why he never took a single step towards getting a real "office job" or CADD job. He would not put his tugboat at such risk until he was 100% assured of marriage to his lifelong $50,000/year Sweetheart.

Of course Chris is somewhat misinformed here; he could make X amount of dollars at a shit job and still be eligible for SS. But he doesn't know this, and the details and fine print are way beyond his understanding. The bottom line is that deep inside, Chris believes that he is stupid and incompetent.

Just gonna leave this here

I mean Barb getting on his ass about finances. I have no confirmation, but it's the best explanation of why he's bringing her up in his complaints about money. (Or even just their household in general)

I'm curious, what is it about Chris that makes home a good eBay seller? His Sale/No Sale ratio looks decent, but what about the try hards who would bid on his items and never pay just to screw with him?
Going through his reviews, seeing pages and pages of great reviews, and then about half the negative reviews are weens. In legitimate sales situations, he does very well.

When you write "good eBay seller overall" do you mean compared to your average eBay user, or compared to the Nigerian gentleman who recently contacted me regarding a 2013 MacBook Air, that he wanted to sell me for a 400$ Western Union money transfer?

Heh, no, actually, he's got a pretty solid history of being a good seller on ebay.

*employing chris commentary*
Chris has a pulse and can be bullied into action. Barb knows that. If the Charb lifestyle starts failing because Barb can't bully Chris into supporting the household, then I'll start believing Chris can't hold down a minimum wage job. Because really, having a pulse, and being able to be forced into working (by circumstances or people or law or whatever) is what you need to work a minimum wage job. Easily.

if he got a job now, he would no longer be eligible for Social Security, and if he got fired, he would be up the creek.
You actually can work and still receive social security benefits, it depends on what kind he has.

The real question is if he was eligible to work AND receive benefits, would he? Also, as it's been pointed out on the cwcki he would have a boat-load of spending cash even if he just worked a minimum wage job.
