(And yes, obviously you can find violins with fake "Made by Stradivarius" labels, on the inside. But advertising one of those as a "Stradivarius copy" kinda goes against the whole scamtastic idea, to put it there in he first place: To make money off suckers who think it's genuine...)

Apparently Chris has exactly one of those violins, made by Framus, with a label that says "Antonius Stradiuarius Copy Faciebat Anno 1721" because that's something Framus used to do. And they did it a lot, because there are quite a few other auctions of their violins where those listers also diligently copied down the label verbatim, archaic spelling and all, just like Chris did (because there's no way in hell he'd have come up with "Faciebat Anno" on his own). Those listings just didn't have a horde of weens poking ebay over every little thing in them though.

We can't really expect Chris to understand all the minutia of classical instruments (because ). At most we can expect him to understand "Stradawhatsit == Good Fiddle". Yes, he could and should have gotten a better appraisal and given a better description, but he's also pretty lazy. But while he's stupid and lazy, he wasn't being dishonest, and by copying Framus' misleading label he really was doing the best he could with his limited faculties (again, ).

I'm genuinely curious/confused now... where is Chris' tugboat going??? I mean, if Barb is taking the tugboat, why does Barb need 500? And what is this "our debt" thing, why is that separate from the money Mummy's supposed to get? Could Marvin or someone else in the inner circle clarify this?

About the $500, extra money is always better.

Barb isn't supposed to get anything. She just takes what she needs and lets Chris have the rest. When, she tries to take what she needs, but hits a ceiling, she gets pissed.

Chris is probably talking about the debt because that might be what's making Barb hit the limit on their funds nowadays.

You actually can work and still receive social security benefits, it depends on what kind he has.

The real question is if he was eligible to work AND receive benefits, would he? Also, as it's been pointed out on the cwcki he would have a boat-load of spending cash even if he just worked a minimum wage job.

I think one of the reasons Chris doesn't really look into these things, and figure out he's actually able to work part or full time, is self preservation of sorts.

He's been raised in the belief that he's a HIGH FUNCTIONING autistic, basically almost normal person (besides just a wee bit of spergyness) that the nonsense forms a big part of Chris's identity and self image.

Chris is not in any way well functioning or socially conditioned enough to manage a job.

Or to manage much else, but his current safe, little predictable routine of gaming, checking moms for mites and going to Walmart/McDonalds.

Deep down inside, he has a feeling this might be the case, since he has seen nothing but failure in his social life. (Especially after the gal pal Potemkin village collapsed!)

But admitting this is the case, and facing the consequences would be too much for his fragile self-identity and would cause it to collapse. (Ready for the nervous breakdown-saga?)

So instead he doesn't ever really entertain the thought of a job, nor investigate the possibilities, content with his lot in life, or as close as content as Chris will ever be.



BTW: Does anybody else's iphone suggest "super gayness" when you write spergyness, or is it just me?!?

I haven't seen anyone mention the earlier posts/comments Chris made about the listings being removed because he "used the name of a celebrity" (himself) in the listing title. Any idea what was up with that, or how he could have even gotten the impression that was the reason for the removal?
