You can tell there was something in her past that triggers a 'dont have the wrong opinion' flag by how aggressively un-opinionated she is. When possible she'd skip giving an opinion at all, which is usually the safest bet when you're about to get your shit smacked any time you piss someine off. When that wasnt possible, she'd immediately fish for Phil's opinion first and then agree or give a 'yeah'.

The only coherent answer she gave was about her dealing with sadness, and her response was to basically shut it out as much as possible and hope it goes away.

It makes sense to me now why she'd jump ship halfway across the country leaving everything behind to a guy she met twice, at least.

Edit: I feel like I need to mention I don't believe that Phil is abusive towards Kat or anything. Her reactions are learned response she probably developed over years and don't have anything to do with how he treats her. He was making attempts to be understanding during the stream, he's just a bumbling idiot and oblivious.

Agreed. And this is why I don't think I will ever go after her. It's exceedingly clear, based on her overall avoidance of any strong opinions, that she did not in fact do something like suggest a "birthday week" as Phil claims. More likely he brought it up and she didn't disagree, so it became her idea in his mind.

So I'm to understand, Kat can't stream or upload videos on her dead ass channels cause her "man" told abunofpeepul that she was undoxable with no online presence. If Phil keeps pushing her to do these streams and they keep getting potentially divisive questions it is only a matter of time until something causes a rift in their relationship. I left out like 12 to 20 things that were immediately answered with 'I don't know' or 'I have no opinion' by Kat, and were just moved right on from. Definitely seems like she's afraid of having the 'wrong' opinion or 'being made fun of'. Based on the off-hand things she says she seems extremely introverted. Dave asked her if she ever sees people at the gym using the equipment wrongly like they have no idea what the machine they are using is for and she said, 'No. I don't pay attention to other people.'
She was asked what she thinks of people who say, 'If you're depressed just get over it, and if you have anxiety just deal with it,' and she said, 'Those people will never change, they can't. They're close-minded. They'll never understand what it's like because they'll never experience it.' Her general outlook usually sounds exceptionally pessimistic. I don't even find myself laughing at her in the least, I just wonder what the fuck happened to her. She's like a kicked puppy or a skittish miniature horse.

She definitely had a bad childhood/school life that she never got over. We made jokes early on that Kat having a job was horrible for Phil cause she would ditch him just like Leanna did, but I think it's a safe bet now that's never going to happen, cause I think she has already shut herself off from the world out of fear of being mocked more. The worst part is that being around Phil is only going to make her worse. She will never wake up and actually see what she's missing, cause if her own messed-up head isn't telling her to ignore everyone, Phil is just gonna brainwash her further with his constant whining of detractors.

She downloaded the Audible App, was going to get the new Stephen King book but didn't because she saw some peepul didn't like it. Hasn't watched or read anything from Stephen King 'in a while', can't seem to name any of his work.

Stephen King is a decent writer, but people who say Stephen King is their favorite author are often the kind of people that don’t read books. Like everything Kat says she likes, it’s the most generic choice possible. As if living with Phil wasn’t enough of an indication, this girl has no taste and seemingly no personality of her own — just Dave’s type!

Austmink cheered for derich to ask 'Last night my mom & dad were constantly fighting & shouting. I was very tired. When you were little did your parents ever have fights?' Dave says they did and mentions a generic word salad about parents fighting. Dave doesn't give Kat any prompt to add anything. Kat get's a thousand yard hurt looking stare when Dave says, 'Sometimes parents break-up. . .and it sucks that some kids get put inbetween and have to go through that,' to which Kat adds 'Yeah'.

Was this some kind of reference to Kat’s previous living situation? Phil’s definitely careless and self-absorbed enough to drop a highly personal detail like that in front of an audience of strangers; he did it with Leanna, after all.

Kat also responded to the question asking what she does when she's upset to calm down. She did not say she spends time with or talks to DSP. She said she goes to the gym, where we all know DSP is not. She literally gets away from him when she's upset.

She discussed how little time she and DSP have together, saying it was only about two hours a day, and didn't mention the extra time they spend together a day a week despite it happening 12 hours after that stream.

I actually don't think she knows how much of a scammer Phil is, and while I don't disagree with her enabling him, I honestly don't know if she realizes it. It doesn't seem like Kat really processes anything at all. Even when the most straightforward things are being said to her, it seems to take hearing/reading it multiple times to actually understand it. Honestly, I have a feeling that's part of why her and Phil paired up in the first place. Phil will happily talk about mundane shit for 20 minutes, stating over and over again something obvious, dedicating an hour prestream to describing the concept of an alarm inspection or answering a phone call. If before meeting Phil someone had spent five or ten minutes telling "Phil is a bad person" over and over, I don't think she would have gotten with him. And it would have to be that blunt of a talk, not something like linking to examples of Phil saying something or a video examining past Phil clips, because again, she doesn't seem to have the critical thinking necessary to grasp what is happening in those situations.

All that being said, I don't think Kat is necessarily unhappy either. Kat's a very simple person, I think as long as she has a roof over her head and the opportunity to play Overwatch, she's content. I think she appears unhappy on stream because she definitely does not enjoy Phil's audience, and answering questions like that is outside her very simple comfort zone. Looking back on it now, I remember early on in their relationship we kept attributing some of Phil's remedial PR attempts being a result of Kat giving him instructions, but after seeing how little comprehension she has, I think we were way off the mark. As for them spending only two hours a day together, that seems perfect for her. She probably listens to Phil rants, retains some generic information about detractors, then goes to the gym or to game or whatever else where she is content and that's that.

Looking back on what Phil originally said about her not having a real online presence, he's not super wrong about that. The biggest thing was the streams, which had very few views and didn't seem to attract a lot of watchers. She doesn't strike me as the type to really say much on social media because she has few opinions, and the ones she does have I think she is largely uncomfortable sharing with a large audience because of how introverted she is. She's just very bland, which again, really explains why she's with Phil. Outside of his streams, Phil really doesn't do anything with his life. He sits around playing mobile games and watching TV/movies. If you compare that to Leanna, it makes sense why she was unhappy. Leanna wanted to go out and do things and have friends. Kat just wants to sit at home, not think about things and play some Overwatch or watch some pop culture thing she thinks she enjoys because other people say it is good. Hell, even her choice of Overwatch as a game of choice makes sense. I don't get the impression she plays it very competitively so she probably isn't using any sort of team speak. She can just pick a basic role and do her thing with minimal interaction with anyone else.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was something in her past that made her like this, and eh, maybe then I'd be sympathetic towards that. But honestly, some people are just this bland.

I think one of the larger pieces of info she dropped was when trying to sound like she does other things besides playing video games and said, 'I like Photoshop and writing stories, they are things I learned at college.' I have doubts as to whether she actually engages in these activities(like ever, it's like when she says she likes dancing she likes the idea of dancing and concepts linked to it but never actually does it; hell she's "Never even been into parties(partying?)", but she is enthusiastic about the idea of doing those things.

So, before I go too off topic, she has been to college and was taught Photoshop and Writing classes. From this I am extrapolating the theory that she went to college for Graphic Design. Where I'm going with this is that there are common misconceptions people have of Graphic Design as 'You get to play Mario Paint all day and have fun being creative' that sort of come crashing down when the reality of project deadlines and creativity being your job with bosses who don't have an artistic bone in their bodies, but have direct control over telling you how to do your job. It's not all fun. So my guess is that she went to a Graphic Design school, possibly all the way up to receiving a BA, possibly dropping out somewhere along the way; and has racked up at the least $20K of student loan debt doing so https://www.careerigniter.com/questions/how-much-does-graphic-design-school-cost/ unless mama's exorcisms were very lucrative. This would be on top of any credit card debt she accrued after or any other loans she has defaulted on while struggling to pay rent. Maybe she's had trouble building a portfolio, maybe she's not as creative as she thought, maybe the job market was oversaturated(the Bureau of Labor Statistics has Graphic Designer at a 4% growth rate over 10 years while Google lists the 10 year job market growth at 1%), maybe she's not great at the more technical aspects, etc. Whatever the case may be she struggled financially after her college years.

It would make sense her priority sole possession is a high end PC. It would make sense for her trying to get into the digital broadcasting market with platforms like Twitch and YouTube. Her make-up starts to somewhat make sense if she views her face as a canvas to paint. Anyway, it's mostly speculative deductions and I think I made the idea clear enough at this point.

We can speculate on why Kat is boring, but it doesn't change the fact that she is boring. She likes the very few things she likes (Overwatch, gym), and that's it. Anything outside of that is clearly beyond her comprehension and comfort zone. Nothing wrong with that, she doesn't bother anyone. Then again, she doesn't endear herself to anybody, either. She could stand to lighten up a little bit.

The timing of Phil changing his social media habits (barring a few mishaps) and Kat's arrival isn't a coincidence, but yeah you're right in that she wasn't giving Phil instructions like we thought. I think what happened was that Phil was continually showing off the stupid shit he was posting (all the food pics, for example) and she showed no interest, which got him thinking that if mah soulmaid doesn't give a shit, then that means nobody else does; she's more like a filter that Phil runs things through.

That being said, their relationship as a couple is non-existent; even Phil and Leanna showed more chemistry at times. They're more like roommates, where they just pass each other by because of their different schedules and maybe have a chat about mundane things when they do see each other. I'm pretty sure if Kat had any friends or close family members, she would have moved in with them instead of Phil, with not much difference in her lifestyle other than she has to sit awkwardly on a crusty couch for a couple hours while speds on the internet ask her stupid questions, which she clearly hates doing. If she ever did want to take a peek out of her shell and do something with her life, Phil isn't the right person to be with at all for a myriad of reasons that don't need to be explained. Whatever, though, she made her bed and now she has to lie in it.

Correct me if I am under a misapprehension, but Dave has TWO completely separate internet lines in his townhouse, yes? Why would his streaming via his Business Class internet in any way affect Kat's ability to stream over the household TV internet line? She could take her brand new PS4 Pro downstairs and stream from the living room at the exact same time he was up in his 'office' working. Dave doesn't need TWO internet lines to stream and MILLIONS of folks stream from regular old household internet services everyday. Personally, I think he's afraid that Kat would siphon viewers off his stream and/or become a bigger streamer than he is.
