I was wondering where this meme came from.for the sake of documentation it must be noted "NPC" has now replaced "boomer" on /pol/, /mu/, /o/, /sp/, and several other boardsView attachment 538024 View attachment 538025

The speed with which the memes mutate is fascinating.for the sake of documentation it must be noted "NPC" has now replaced "boomer" on /pol/, /mu/, /o/, /sp/, and several other boardsView attachment 538024 View attachment 538025
That's nothing, they're also using the term Zoomer as of late. The speed with which the memes mutate is fascinating.
Zoomers are the kids born roughly after 9/11. The hip kids who dye their hair crazy colours, play Fortnite and listen to 6ix9ine. It's mostly used to make Boomer vs Zoomer comparisons. That's nothing, they're also using the term Zoomer, whatever the fuck that means.

@ure_mum has a better explination, but more or less.I don't know what it means for sure, but I'd guess gen Z.
/pol/ has mods? Why do the mods over there even allow them?
They do, but they alternate being hands off and overly butthurt./pol/ has mods?

And I was meaning more like 4Chan in general, as those terms are present on the other boards too.
I thought of this more as replacing their use of the phrase "bug men". Zoomers are a different demographic. That's nothing, they're also using the term Zoomer as of late.
Doesn't change the fact that most of 4Chan already is in the 18-40 demographic in the first place. So by their logic, everyone there is a Boomer/Zoomer/Whateverthefuck.I thought of this more as replacing their use of the phrase "bug men". Zoomers are a different demographic.
What study is this, and what is it meant to imply? I don't really understand the meme beyond "people I don't like".Zoomers are the kids born roughly after 9/11. The hip kids who dye their hair crazy colours, play Fortnite and listen to 6ix9ine. It's mostly used to make Boomer vs Zoomer comparisons.
Also the NPC meme is so disgustingly forced, based on some meme study that was done by some literal whos. I don't remember even boomerposting derailing a thread as much as someone claiming everyone in the thread are actually not real.
I didn't read the study originally, but I saw people referencing it when talking about NPCs. Going though the archives, you'll find that it's based on some article from, I'm not joking, 2011.What study is this, and what is it meant to imply? Ah, so "people have different thought processes, maybe" becomes "Everyone but me is a soulless automaton".I didn't read the study originally, but I saw people referencing it when talking about NPCs. Going though the archives, you'll find that it's based on some article from, I'm not joking, 2011.
Not Everyone Conducts Inner Speech
The tl;dr of it is that a study was done on 30 students in a university and they found that only a quarter of them experienced inner speech and seeing. Why it suddenly became popular, I have no idea. Maybe someone from /x/ (I got the feeling the true origin of this "meme" is from there) dug it up again and spread it to /pol/, as an alternative for "shill" and so.
And apparently, a Zoomer is someone who plays Fortnite and "promotes" e-Celebs, even if you state you hate them.Ah, so "people have different thought processes, maybe" becomes "Everyone but me is a soulless automaton".
So if someone disagrees with you:And apparently, a Zoomer is someone who plays Fortnite and "promotes" e-Celebs, even if you state you hate them.
