I have a feeling 4cuck are only using the spam on /biz/ as an excuse to test this system before rolling it out site-wide with the excuse of it reducing shitposters, or shills like they did on /biz/. Also calling bullshit on them not keeping records. Increasing barrier to entry will also make regular posting (and shitposting) more of a hassle so site PPH will invariably drop.
I think the mods just want to have a tighter grip on who is and isn't allowed to post, which frankly goes against the whole spirit of the site.
 
I put up with a lot of shit precisely because it's an anonymous imageboard and thus an account is unnecessary. Someone too timid to post anonymously, give or take, is too paranoid and therefore too far gone. If this changes, I can finally cut it out of my life. Still, if they leave some boards without this, those boards will be overrun by the inhabitants of the others.

It's not like either board has been great anyway. /pol/ is like over 70% bots at this point that just spam bait to derail every thread.

I think it's because they want to sell being able to bot on 4chan, this is a push to get rid of unauthorized bots and shills.
 
Gee I wonder if this has anything to do with an upcoming election where we must save Our Democracy™ by any means necessary? 4chan was already in the shitter since Moot simped for Zoe Quinn but this is probably gonna be it for good. No way this is just for /biz/. RIP
 
how can one kiwi boy make a captcha to filter out ddos traffic but one of the biggest sites in history has to resort to email verifications?

I don't disagree but there are literally insane people that spend hours and hours every day shitting up the site and make it impossible to maintain certain communities or even discuss particular topics. If this were to alleviate some of that I wouldn't mind, but to me it still reads as selling access and a death by a thousand cuts thing before it turns into SomethingAwful and you need a 4chan pass to start threads or post images or even post at all. The jannies will bemoan their 'workload' but when it comes to hiding SweetBaby threads or banning topics they personally dislike they're all in lockstep and sanitize the board completely.

No matter how awful 4cuck gets, it will always be better than Peddit. At least 4cuck doesn't pretend to be a safe, welcoming community like Preddit but then let subreddits targeted at children get overrun with pedos and groomers, all while having the nastiest porn imaginable underneath the surface. 4cuck is more honest and upfront about the worst you'll find on their site, unlike Preddit.
Also, will this email requirement mean everyone has to be a namefag? The lack of visible usernames on 4cuck also makes it superior to Reddit.
