Since this fucking thread is slow I might as well give some honest thoughts on my views of modern internet: I have no idea anymore what half the lingo is for the internet anymore, I swear the lingo people use on boards and forums and just the internet in general is moving at such a fast pace even I can't keep up anymore, Like shit like "goyslop" or whatever, I've called this shit many times before as "zoomer newspeak" but I genuinely feel that way like it's a whole new language that I just can't grasp. I'll join lobbies for games and people will go like "something something bussin/doomer/coomer/etc". Like what is this anymore, and I just feel kinda tired even going on 4chan or the like anymore since it feels so disconnected from what I remember. We can go on about summerfags and the like but I just don't know anymore.

Thinking that WASP is "/pol/newspeak" is extreme ignorance on your part. That term has been around long before the internet was a thing, let alone the autistic larping /pol/ boogeyman.

maybe I'm just confused a lot, again like the big wall of text above, i have no clue anymore on half this lingo anymore, WASP sounds like something that would be birthed from the internet and image boards as it reminded me of the Enteral Anglo shitpost so apologies on my part. again like I've stated, I feel anytime I go on the internet I have to decode half the words people are even speaking anymore.

I just wonder have I grown too old for the modern internet. since it feels like modern day 4chan and other sites and games (like Team Fortress 2) I've used and played for years just seem so different now, and i do fear Kiwi Farms going down the same path. People get on my case a lot, but i don't use any social media websites, ever, never have never will. but i feel i've been left behind in the acceleration of the internet and it's culture

I just want the internet as a whole to be fun again, everything now is political and the like, people get on my ass for being a "fencesitter" but it's because i've genuinely grown tired of all the internet political slapfighting, just watching the sides be hypocritical in nature. That can lead into a whole arguement of modern society as a whole becoming more nihilistic/uncaring in nature. But that's for a different time

It's the effect of the zoomer generation being raised on the Internet and appropriating old memes/online slang into their lingo, even in real life sadly enough. The Internet, for better or worse, has become part of their personal identity and they don't know any other way.

It's come to the point where I've begun reading a lot more, while also getting rid of all my social media. It's helped my mental health and reminds me that you're not attached to your computer like some symbiote. Cut yourself off and go out more, focus on those studies and you'll never look back. I believe in you.

I get it too, a lot of people there will give you crap for not being into todays lingo, despite 4chan being a ridiculously esoteric place anyway, I’d say get off the internet and do something you enjoy it might help tbh.

It's a good thing for 4chan to evolve its own increasingly arcane lexicon. It makes the site less fun for ordinary people and casual users to read.

Honestly Gen z has the biggest difference between old and younger variants. Let's go by saying Gen Z was from 1997-2010, there is an extreme difference between the older Gen z and it's younger selves, could be due to olden Gen Z being raised by boomers and Gen X and later Gen Z being raised by millennials. It's just something I've noticed that they are the same generation but are so wildly different culture wise and the like
