What in the actual fuck is this? The site's even worse than usual in terms of post quality so who the hell is this deterring outside of regular posters?
 
They keep amping up the "making threads/uploading images from your IP range has been blocked" in the biggest boards if you don't verify your mail. And I've tried a shitton of different IP ranges, it's a fake message no matter what range you try posting with. Basically, email verification is now completely mandatory. You can't hardly call it an anonymous board anymore if accounts are needed.

Yup called it, I knew they would move forward with mandatory email accounts the moment they made the 15 minute timer global.
Still don't have a single regret about ignoring 4chan ever since I made my outdated browser captcha post. I wonder how many other dinosaurs like me will stop posting now, leaving only mobileniggers and zoomers or other retards who auto-update everything without a second thought.
 
3 hours of non functional captcha, no changes on the front page. This is weird, why have the site up but broken fucking captcha?

Yeah it'll take some time before all the NEET janjans wake up at 12AM and realize the site is fucking dead.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if the downtime is caused by some incompetent junior admin who kept trying to rev up the anti-spam measures more and more to deter the vidya butts and 'ick on 'eck posters, and just broke the site by going too far so now they don't know how to even fix it.

I'm pretty sure it's just some guy booting the captcha's sys. subdomain
 
This kind of thing has happened before and every time, it has preceded a major change to the site in one way or another. This happened before the word filter, before the silly little video that played 24/7 globally on the site, before moot left etc. They will say it was a server migration issue or routine maintenance but in a few months, there will be a fun banner letting everyone know they sold the site to the Saudis or that you'll need a 4chan account soon or something silly.
 
The latest batch of jannies have somehow managed to be exponentially worse than previous jannies, actual newfag redditors who ban people posting classic memes like nigger stole my bike because they're so new they dont even know any of the old memes
