My schizo theory is that they did this specifically to stop tranny hate threads, because that board is filled with tranny porn threads and I'm ready to bet lots of mods and jannies are into that shit so seeing /pol/ tier threads on their favorite goon board must be infuriating. /gif/ had quite a few fun non porn threads before that change but they're not as fast as the porn threads being bumped 24/7 by gooners. So with 5 pages they get pushed off the catalog in a few hours. Also that ben fischbein shit is such a throwback, iirc some guy was trying to dump a list of names associated with CTR and kept getting banned so we started posting each name individually to figure out which one was causing the ban.

By the way your decline timeline is missing the the neutering of "raid" threads during GG (by that point the only fun threads on /b/ were raid threads) and the 2018 tumblr porn ban which I can guarantee caused an influx of tumblr gooners that took refuge on the porn boards. They often decide to wander off and shit up other boards, especially /v/ and /pol/. This can be observed not just through the increase in fag/tranny/bbc porn being posted to shit up non porn boards but also with the amount of literal tumblr tier blogposting on the porn boards themselves. Because that's where the tumblr users reside that's where you can observe their unironic behavior, if you exclude the spamming of gay/tranny/nigger porn in threads that specifically say they don't want that shit.

Best example I've seen is a post on /pol/ talking about a /d/ thread that's posing as a fetish specific "general" but is actually just a blogposting thread for fags. That's a never ending thread on a hentai board filled with faggot blogposts like "I just mixed THC into a batch of lube" , "I can't wait to sit on this brand new 4 inch diameter dragon dildo" and "guys my asshole is bleeding again but I can't coom without inserting something in it". A thread on a porn board that routinely hit bump limit from text posts with less than 100 images posted. A thread that by all metrics belongs on /lgbt/ because it's obviously just a bunch of homos talking about blowing their assholes out. If you look through the archive for that thread the shift from pic dumps to tumblr blogposting happens in 2018, right after tumblr banned porn. This can't be a coincidence.

Only thing Cloudflare can do afaik is serve up a cache of the site's content but with the site itself in a FUBAR state it would effectively be read-only. Main purpose of services like Cloudflare is to prevent DDOS attacks.

I won't quote a specific post but to everybody asking why everyone only uses pol and v etc on there: shitty jannies is why.
